Our trip to Ireland began with a 2 night stay in the Ballynahinch Castle Hotel. This is a very special place situated on vast park like grounds, some groomed and some natural and woodsy. The streams and lakes on the property are stocked with fish and many guests take advantage of the fly fishing. There are many different activities available...

Hi there, I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay so much. It is always nice to read that our guests managed to experience some of the estate and although your husband did not catch a salmon he hopefully caught the fly-fishing bug. Come back this summer when the salmon are running. Warm regards, Patrick

From the moment we walked in the door, we fell in love with this place. Our room was top notch...newly renovated, updated with American electrical outlets, USB charging outlets and the most comfortable bed. Guests can be served dinner in the dining room or pub. The 5 course meal we had in the dining room was the most delicious meal...

There aren't a lot of very good lunch options in this part of Connemara but this certainly is one of the better ones. Food and service are both very good. Staff very friendly and make families very welcome. Beautiful setting. You can follow up a great lunch with a nice country stroll in the hotel grounds.

We spent a weekend here recently. The Castle is situated in one of the most beautiful places in Ireland. The Castle has been recently renovated and I am glad to say it has not lost any of its charm. Open fires, amazing location, very friendly staff all add to the charm. The food is very good and the dinner on...

Dear guest, Thank you for your very nice comments. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay so much and particularly that you liked our improvements. It is important to constantly improve yet we try not to change, a fine line indeed. It is so good that you got out and enjoyed the wider Connemara area, it makes all the...

My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Ballynahinch Castle, while we certainly enjoyed our break, I found our dinner lastnight a little strange, not the food, this was above par, whilst we were eating we overheard the manager Patrick chatting, as all managers do to their guests, what we found a little odd, was that...

Dear Peter, Thank you for your kind words following your stay with us and your trimly reminder that perception is reality. After a 7 hour drive from Kenmare we were very happy to finally arrive at Ballynahinch, and were looking forward to our 5 day visit at the the end of our Ireland trip. Excellent hotel in beautiful surroundings. Rooms are variable but room 5 is pretty impressive. Lovely dining room over looking river, but for dinner the food was at best lukewarm or borderline cold!
