The Dolphin Hotel, I could say so much about this hotel and staff. Rooms were really comfortable and clean.
Food was outstanding OMG It was so tasty we went through the menu between the 4 of us and every plate was cleaned.
Staff were so friendly and helpful Pat the owner is hilarious and makes everyone feel at home.
The Island itself you can get around it in a couple of hours but we didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted because in Bofin, time is different (throw your watch away) it's Bofin time. Beautiful beaches, outstanding views it's a little bit of heaven on earth.
Do not put this on your Bucket list you will want to go again and again.
Love it.

The food was delicious.
But that is where the good ends. Given the amount we paid for a 2 night stay off season I was shocked when we saw our room. There literally hasn’t been a penny spent on the hotel since it was built as far as I could see. Tired, worn, run down appearance. The cheapest most basic furniture and thin, transparent curtains. I’d forgive all that though if it was clean which it did not appear to be. The bathroom in particular would not make you feel at ease. Floor tiles lifting. A damp smell. Rust stains trailing below the hand rail, the cheapest shower curtain I’ve ever seen and a rusty rail it was hung on.
Being there off season but not off season prices as I’ve already mentioned left the place feeling completely without atmosphere due to lack of people about; both staff and guests. I wasn’t expecting luxury but I had thought maybe an open fire of a miserable September evening. No such luck. Lights turned off for the season in downstairs toilets and there wasn’t a notion heating of any sort would be turned on. I guess it’s a case of supply and demand. There is huge demand and only a few non self catering options so it seems they don’t have to invest too much as they know they will get custom anyway. Seems to me bofin has benefited from the pandemic and the increased tourism demand for the domestic market and boy have each and every business owner decided to capitalise. The island itself is beautiful and a walkers paradise. But from the lady who appeared at cleggan in a luminous jacket when we returned with her hand out for €6 (no signs on said carpark indicating the charges the day we parked) to the overpriced bar food in the only option on the entire island for lunch (days beach bar) food was lovely but so expensive to the price of the bikes we have definitely been and gone with a feeling of everyone you met were happy to rip you off and move on. So will we be back, probably not. Daylight robbery is not attractive and neither was our grim room for the price!
