Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mary's house is located on the small Mweenish Island, a fascinating, solitary and windy place, suspended in time, exactly what I was looking for for the trip with my partner along the west coast of Ireland. Mary was immediately kind and helpful, she made us feel at ease immediately. The room was comfortable and tidy, with an enviable view of the Atlantic Ocean. At breakfast (served by the very kind Mary an hour early to accommodate our departure) a little fox even came to visit us! There are no services on the island but the first pub where you can eat is just 10 minutes away by car. I absolutely recommend this B&B for those who want to immerse themselves in uncontaminated nature and go on excursions off the beaten track.

What an incredible place! Bhí sé go hiontach ar fad. Máirín is a wonderful host. Bhí an leaba an chompordach agus an bia go hálainn.
Is Neamh ar Talamh é an áit sin. In aice na fharraige.
Heaven on earth
Táimid fíor bhuíoch duit a Mharín.
Go raibh míle maith agat.

If you are looking for somewhere quietly located but within easy reach of the wonderful scenery of Co Galway, this is a very good place to start. Beautiful view from the breakfast room and if you go hungry, you only have yourself to blame! Thank you Maureen for our lovely cups of tea and scones in the evening - I miss them. And thank you for the handy road signs to find you!

Sea-Side B&B is on Mweenish Island, connected by bridge from Carna, Connemara, so the added allure of being on an island is part of your experience. The view from the breakfast sunroom is all sea and stonewalled fields and offshore islands -- beautiful in any weather. There are two ensuite rooms, the larger with a view of fields and Coilleen Hill, and a slightly smaller one with a view of the sea. Both are thoughtfully decorated in appealing colours. The surrounding lawned gardens are available to guests for sitting out, reading, or painting, and you can hang up or spread out your wetsuit as well.
Maureen and Frank are ideal hosts, quickly picking up on your interests and food preferences. They can provide a wealth of information on beaches, boats (Frank is a Galway Hooker owner), sailing, fishing, walks, local history and the Irish language, if you want to try a few phrases! Breakfast is to your taste, and while we were there, we enjoyed Maureen's special caraway scones, crab claws a few times and even scallops fresh from the sea. Any time you pop in from your adventures, if Maureen is home she will invite you for tea. Coffee drinkers will be offered instant or the use of a French press (cafetiere) coffee maker (but it's up to you to operate it). One memorable evening, we arrived back from an outing to find just-caught lobsters about to go in the pot for our dinner.
Both Maureen and Frank are grand to chat with and will make you feel like welcome houseguests in no time. We enthusiastically recommend Sea-Side B&B to anyone who wants a friendly, comfortable, and genuinely sea-side stay in the heart of Connemara.

Seaside B&B on Mweenish island is a lovely place where you can forget for a while our fast crazy urban life. Its owners Frank and Maurine Cooke are very friendly people with whom you may feel very comfortably. The house stands right on the shore of the ocean and you may enjoy severe landscapes of Connemara right from the terrace while having your breakfast. Maurine may also serve dinner if requested.

Frank is an experienced fisherman, he may manage fishing on his boat or give you an incredible pleasure sailing on his Galway Hooker (a native Irish boat). It's great to choose the Seaside B&B as a base for visiting scenic surroundings of Connemara as well as climbing up Croagh Patrick which is in 1,5-2 hours of drive.

We stayed here with our 3 children and we all really loved the place and its owners and hope to return here some day. We came here in our car right from Moscow, Russia. Those can especially appreciate this quiet place who ever lived in bloody overcrowded, breathless in traffic jams Moscow.

My experience here was fantastic. Maureen and Frank are great hosts who immediately made us feel welcome. The rooms were great, really comfy beds and were well looked after. The views all around the property were amazing, the guys have a conservatory for the view, where they let us sit when they offered us tea. What you will get for your money here is great hosts, great beds and breakfast's, delicious scones made by Maureen, some great stories from Frank, and an overall fantastic experience from them. This is the place for you so book now!

We have shared our experience with many friends and family and sent them off to find the Best kept secret of Ireland. Not only great accommodations but wonderful hosts. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Walking in the evening through the lane and down to the shoreline was very special and provided a sunset that continued to improve over the extent of the evening. Good food, a soft bed and location that makes memories, and Frank and Maureen are the real thing.
Their easy going manner and friendly interaction with guests was the best we ever experienced.
We give this B&B the highest possible recommendations and only wish you will be as blessed as we were to find such a place to rest our heads. Frank and Maureen Thanks for all.

It has been our first time in Irland, and we hadn't reserved any room except the one for the first two nights in Dublin. Our intention was to see as much as possible, travelling from place to place by car so to be free to take a room wherever we arrived - but we arrived at Mweenish Island, and we couldn't move further on. We asked Mrs Maueren if we could stay there just one night, and the same we did on the following morning, and on the next day again ... for all the remaining nights...
From there we moved to Achill Isalnd, to the the Cliffs of Moher and to a lot of other places (and even if they are not far, we can't say they are closeby) but for the night and the awakening, we had to return at Mweenish Island, to this land heaving between sky und water, to all the trustful little birds and to the hares crossing the beach in front of the porch at breakfast time, and to Mrs Maureen..

I stayed at Seaside B & B for three nights and would highly recommend it.
Although I come from Ireland, I found that I learned so much history about the area
from Maureen and Frank. They are lovely people and have a great Irish sense of humour and many stories to tell. The food is great, the house spotless and the area amazing. For anyone visiting Ireland, I feel that a stay at the Seaside B & B will be a cherished memory you will never forget. You will get a true taste of Irish culture.
