Looking out at the Wild Atlantic, the Aran Islands Hotel (Óstán Oileain Arainn) is the perfect base for your escape to Inis Mór, one of Ireland’s last remaining secret havens. Our guests tell us it’s like they are in their Irish home away from home, with everything from a cosy open fire to tasty home cooked meals served with a welcome smile. For a truly unique getaway, why not stay in one of our private Seaview Bedroom Chalets on the naturally elevated grounds of the hotel. We designed our Seaview Chalets so you can experience the island way of life like never before; enjoy fresh air as soon as you step out onto your decking area and luxuriate in the island and sea views. Our bedrooms and Chalets in Aran Islands Hotel offer the perfect refuge to relax and restore after a busy day exploring and enjoying the delights of Inis Mór. Each room is En-suite with tea and coffee making facilities. Many of our rooms offer stunning sea-views and our balcony rooms offer a spacious area to enjoy the views in privacy. Our chalets all have their own private terrace, so you can breathe in fresh Atlantic air while you sip on a drink from our bar. All our rooms come with freshly cooked breakfast each morning in our restaurant. Family rooms and chalets are available. Our hotel continues to evolve as demand grows for a unique hideaway from the hustle & bustle of the day to day. Due to popular demand, we added to our little ‘village’ of Seaview Bedroom chalets on naturally elevated grounds to take advantage of the views of the island and Wild Atlantic. The Seaview Bedroom Chalets are located next to the hotel so that you can take advantage of all our hotel has to offer, including our Bar & Restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Just a quick message of thank you to all the staff including housekeeping, kitchen ,bar & restaurant, reception and drivers. We loved our stay last year and this year. Breakfast and dinner were great both days and dinner is very reasonably priced and delicious. Staff could not do enough for us this morning making sure we made it back to Cork on time. Thank you again Amanda & David

We stayed in one of the chalets, it was beautiful, bright and clean, also very well soundproofed couldn’t hear anything from out side. The staff were friendly and welcoming, food was delicious, if I was being picky I found breakfast a bit limited, tined fruit, no mushrooms, or croissant & pastries etc but given its an island fresh is probably difficult to get. I broke my leg while out walking on our first day, but even that wouldn’t deter me from coming back, definitely recommend this hotel. The Covid-19 precautions were excellent, tables very well separated, all areas cleaned down after each use. The Aran island is a beautiful place to visit, it’s a bit like stepping back in time, wonderful experience, I’d recommend it to anyone.

My son and I visited here at the end of the season,it was much quieter than high season but we still had a fabulous time. The staff at the hotel are really lovely and welcoming, particularly the lady on reception, the food was excellent and the room was clean and very comfortable. All Covid 19 regulations were strictly adhered to, staff wore face masks or visors and there was plenty of hand sanitizer available. The hotel bar was busy at night and had great atmosphere- I usually find hotel bars dull and lacking character, so that was a nice surprise. There was a handy shuttle service for the ferry and everything in the village is a short walk away We hired bikes to explore the island's sights (€15 for the day) and on the second day we walked for miles, just enjoying the views and the peace. Breakfast at the hotel was a really good full Irish, (you don't need a menu, just an appetite!) This was accompanied by a proper, decent, honest-to-God pot of strong tea (no miserable holding back on the tea bags here!). Would have loved to have stayed longer, and we will be back again. I didn't get a look at the new chalets before leaving,so I can't comment on them but might be an option for next year.

Very disappointed in the service by the hotel bar. We were told they wouldn’t take 10 people for dinner as they don’t take anyone who is not a resident in the hotel. We were a family of 8 adults and 2 children looking to get food and were refused. Rude and ignorant I wouldn’t recommend trying to get in.

Honestly, hugely disappointing. My family went there for an evening meal as a treat. The menu looked promising even though it was a bit expensive. We ordered 2 vegan tandoori, chicken wings, and a beer battered fish. The chicken wings were flavourless and greasy. My sister and her partner barely ate a third before they couldn't stomach any more. The beer batter on the fish was very oily, no crisp or seasoning in the batter. Worst of all was the 'tandoori vegetables'. It was slathered in bland jar sauce, the vegetables were 80% onion chunks apart from one small piece of aubergine, two slices of pepper, two slices of tomato, and some jalapenos that came from a jar (you could taste the brine) and a then I found a pepper stalk. When the waitress, who really was lovely, asked how the meal was, we were honest and expressed our disappointment. I showed her the pepper stalk and she said she would take it back to the chef. I ate the rest of my rice because I was starving and the others picked at some of the chips and fish but that was it. No one came out from the kitchen to speak with us or apologise directly. We waited a good 15-20 minutes before we asked for a bill. When the waitress brought it down, we were still charged full price and the waitress embarrassedly passed on an apology from the chef. €94 for greasy chicken, oily fish, jar sauce and jalapenos, a full onion and a pepper stalk in my food. I would not recommend to anyone.

We were able to book two nights with a mid-week rate. The pick up at the ferry was smooth and the driver friendly and welcoming. We also were able to check in to our little bungalow early and it was pleasant to pick up a few beers from the hotel bar and enjoy them on our deck. Bring along your own grocery treats but be warned there is no fridge in the bungalows. The bar accommodated us and we got ice to ice our white wine we had brought along. The bike rentals are quite close and all sites you would want to see are within walking or biking range. We were happy to be on island before the crowds and were able to add another night after thoroughly enjoying our first day touring the island. Our breakfast meals at the hotel restaurant were included and perfectly serviceable "full Irish". The coffee was great and hostess and servers congenial. We had dinner at the restaurant one evening and it was also perfectly tasty. The Spar market is nearby and a great option for picking up sundries; the other top island eateries are also within easy walking distance. The little beach in front was lovely and overall a 10/10 would return

Stayed in a sea view chalet. This was lovely and warm very adequate in terms of a bedroom open plan it contained coffee table 2 armchaand TV. There was ample wardrobe space and a beautiful ensuite. There are tea/coffee making facilities hairdryer and all very conveniently located in the room. There are also two deck chairs with a table outside each chalet should one prefer to sit outside. The food in the hotel was beautiful and the staff and receptionist were extremely kind caring and helpful.

Nice Hotel. Clean, fair size room, nice bathroom with all you need provided. Location of room for us was poor, overlooking dustbins also very noisy bith nights we stayed, with guests shouting, banging on doors and generally making a lot of noise up to 2am both nights we stayed. Probably full of alcohol, don't know if there is anybody on duty to ask guests to keep noise down. Dinner good, breakfast excellent, lovely staff. The island is beautiful and well worth a visit.

Just back from a couple of days at this hotel. We were booked into the family chalet which was brilliant. Spotlessly clean & very new. It has a large separate bedroom which has 3x single beds & 1x double bed. The living area was well furnished. The bathroom was big with walk-in shower. I would highly recommend the chalets We had booked our meals in the restaurant for the 2 nights but cancelled the second night as the service was terrible. Our mains arrived after an hours wait & this was nearly finished by the time the chips/potato & veg arrived. Our server was very apologetic but I think the staff are an issue & a bit of training is needed. The breakfast was good, again due to covid it’s not self service which is fine but the staff are the issue here again. The hotel provides a bus to collect /return you from the ferry port which is €6 per room. I had sent an email that I didn’t require but was still charged. I would go back to this hotel & had a very enjoyable stay

Stayed here Wednesday night 12th of August in the Excellent Chalets to the rear of the hotel( No 5). We were greeted by staff in a friendly manner and informed of all things Covid in a professional manner . We booked for Dinner that evening at the request of the receptionist and also for breakfast the next morning . She wrote this down on our information sheet which was a nice touch as it informed us that all hairdryers , hangers and other high touch items were available should we need them . The entire hotel and staff are to be complimented on the wearing of face masks , sanitation and social distancing etiquette which were all well observed . We had dinner that evening Which was delicious . My wife and I had battered Pollack which was delicious but portion size was a little small . Breakfast was full Irish and was very good and I saw a commendation for breakfast on a wall plaque which was well deserved . Outdoor seating offers wonderful views . All in all a wonderful stay and we will be back very soon .

If you aren’t staying in the hotel (building itself) then it will be the chalet. The family chalets have one bedroom with a kingsize bed and 2 single beds, and a lounge area. With a shower room. They are in a fantastic location, looking down at a sea view. I hope you get lovely weather as it’s a fantastic place to visit. I would highly recommend Celtic tours if you plan on taking a tour, our guide was Pat and he was lovely.
There are more places to choose from in the Inishmore area.
