We visited in august as I have a business appointment in Fashion city the following day. We opted for Tallaght as it was easily accessible to Dublin City, close to where my appointment was and there was parking. We booked via booking.com and it was €161 which I felt was a lot considering. Our stay was during this obscene hot weather and as expected our room was hot, infact it felt like it was almost the temperature of the surface of the sun! The hotel had kindly provided a fan in arrival as I’m sure they was aware of the rooms heat! We arrived and literally left 15 minutes later to go to the zoo. We was checked in swiftly and our room was ready early so we could leave our stuff which was great. When we returned back to the room that evening we discovered that we was unable to open to balcony. I called to reception and was informed all balconies was closed off due to health & safety. I got ready for bed with the fan on full capacity. There are no bottles of water provided so I called to reception to ask if perhaps a jug of ice water could be brought up. I was told they don’t provide room service, I didn’t feel this was particularly a room service offering, more just concierge popping up for us. I was told I had to come down to the bar. As it was past 9pm I thought it would be quiet so I went down in my pjamas - shorts and a T-shirt type top. I had my hair in a pineapple on top of my head and make up off. As I come out the lift I saw the reception and the bar completely packed with football fans that had just left the grounds across the road! I was mortified. However I was already in deep so I proceeded over to the bar and stood with all the fans in my pjs to get a jug of water. Luckily the lady at the bar spotted me and served me straight after the person she was serving! I then went back to the lift only to find my card wouldn’t work, so I had to return to reception holding my jug of ice water , to stand only what felt like an eternity for some guests checking in after football. I eventually got my card sorted and scuttled off to my room . I honestly had the worst nights sleep as the bed was hard and not comfortable at all. That coupled with the heat and no air coming in to the room it wasn’t great at all. In the morning we went to enquire about breakfast. Was told it was €15 per person but we only wanted coffee and toast , to which they was happy to oblige on a seperate smaller charge in the restaurant. I must note the young guy in breakfast, I’m presuming he was a manager. He was lovely and super helpful. He’s a credit to the tallaght team. He was lovely. I’m not sure if I’d return here, we booked it simply for convenience and a clean location but I just wasn’t comfortable. Simple things that I feel should be provided wasn’t.…
Went in for some food and drinks with my friends, food is great and service is amazing, our waitress was Brenda she made the visit even more enjoyable with her willingness to help with whatever we needed and her ability to put a smile on our faces. Would definitely recommend 🙏🏼
The service for the breakfast was very poor. Orange juice machine was broken It was fixed eventually when we brought it to the attention of staff Toaster was not working so no toast available The food was generally cold with no flavor.
Just returned from this hotel, central, very clean and the staff are warm and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble. Good breakfast as well as menu at the bar (recommend the chicken burger). Would stay again in a heart beat, if this is the standard of all the chain of hotels (Maldron) they must be all excellent.
Mercy is the best worker quick at serving drink and very flirty hope use keep her on as she is doing a very good job and also told us about a free drink so she chatted us in two all this so very best of luck at reading this and hope you have a good night
This is the email I sent the hotel as I don’t want to re type everything “When we arrived at the hotel, the entrance was blocked by a plethora of people smoking. As a non smoker this was not a pleasant start to the stay. Throughout our stay the entrance was always blocked by smokers. Due to the elevator being broke we had to use the stairs which was littered with stains and rubbish. When we eventually made it into the room, the curtains were closed leaving the room feeling overly stuffy. When we opened the curtains we were met with the abundance of stains in the room. I have attached pictures of the stains in our room. The stains littered the floor and also the bed. We were staying on the 5th floor so didn’t expect noise to be much of a problem however we could hear the noise in our hotel room. I approached reception and we were kindly given a new room but offered no discount. Before we went to the new room we decided to go to the bar but seen it was closed for the next hour because of a wedding reception. In the 25 degree weather we were incredibly disappointed to not have quick access to cold water. The new room was much better however there were a couple dead bugs around the room. When we used the shower we were not able to adjust the temperature and the water was stuck too hot. I brought this up when checking out.” Not pictured is the noise levels and the fact that they pool they advertise having is actually just the gym next door that you have to walk out into the street to get to…
At the moment the Maldron Tallaght has a lot of building works going on, the day I checked in i had hammer drills going for two straight hours without a break. No word of warning from management before or after booking that the room is basically unusable for work calls or sleep during the day. The bathroom mirror light came on and off at random times, so prepare to shave in the dark. The vending machine took my two euro without dispensing anything. There is no actual light in the bedroom proper, only a bedside mini lamp, so if you draw the curtains so the builders can't stare in your room, expect darkness. You will need to get your key cards reprogrammed at reception every day or two because they just stop working. One lift is broken, the other is the slowest thing in the world, shared between hotel guests, event visitors, and the spa and gym members, so get used to the stairs. The restaurant is a shocker with tasteless food and flat Guinness, but with prices from the cosmos. The only positive is the staff, friendly and professional. But honestly run a mile from this hotel.…
The girls in the bar were very pleasant and nice , mercy , love of God and Kaitlin. They were really nice and made sure everything was fine for me . The food was delicious and bar man richie was super kind. Defeinetly recommend.
We had quite a good experience at the maldron hotel. I'd have to say one of the highlights of the day was going to their restaurant and being served by Jordan who was extremely polite and helpful. Great spot !
Stayed here recently for a concert, it was exactly what we’re looking for, great location, beds are super comfortable and breakfast was lovely the next day. Would definitely recommend and we will stay here again!
