Closing out two weeks traveling Ireland we needed a place to relax and wind down. The White Cottages did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded our expectations. John and Jackie were wonderful hosts and created a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests share beautiful views on the patio, walks among the tide pools and football/soccer with Cassie, their friendly Australian Shepherd. The daily breakfast was phenomenal and Jackie knows how to cook the PERFECT fried egg (apparently she was interviewed by the local newspaper to share her secret)! But you must try the tomato relish on the white pudding as well. We saved the tea bread for desert! Yum!!! Whether you are coming from abroad or just a getaway from Dublin, this is the place to stay!
The only thing wrong with The White Cottages is having to leave! Jackie, Joe (&Cassie) are simply The most Wonderful Hosts! Their Accommodation is just fantastic, with such attention to detail in everything, including the crispest white linen & fluffy towels (an absolute must 😊) Jackie’s Breakfasts are delicious & Joe’s knowledge of the area, including the best eateries is second to none! Honestly there is nothing not to Love about This Wonderful Boutique B&B (except the checking out of course 😉) 10 out of 10 for Everything, We can’t wait to return!!!!
So lucky to find this superb B&B, with such warm hospitality and flexibility to manage 5 friends so comfortably. Luxurious accommodation and spectacular uninterrupted views of the Irish sea on the doorstep. Thank you Jackie and Joe, we'll be back!
Had a great weekend trip here. The breakfast and coffee was excellent. We stayed in The Perch room which had an amazing view of the sea. The room and bathroom were really clean, bright and the artwork all over the B&B was very fitting for a beach house. Would definitely return again for another weekend trip!
i stayed here for a few days and it was amazing great hosts, food was to die for ,great little town will be back asap.breafast was a delight .would highly recommend this piece of heaven, a great break
The missus and myself spent a couple of days here recently. It’s 30 minutes from Dublin airport and we found it a far better option than some airport hotel. The location beside the sea is wonderful. We really liked being able to put on out rough shoes and strolling along the water front to Skerries harbour. And there is a lovely coastline pathway if you feel like a longer stroll. There is a great vibe in Skerries and I was able to have a pint and a nice chowder at a nearby place - Stoop Your Head I think it’s called. I had never been to Skerries before and it’s a great place to stay with lots of drinking and dining options. This guesthouse is a cheerful place run by a very friendly and dynamic couple. There is a bright - almost Hellenic - feel to the place. The breakfast table looks out over Skerries bay. We enjoyed our two night-stay here and it was a great place to get over a bit of jet lag before hitting the road.…
Stayed in the Harbourmaster room. Beautiful view, accessed only from a terrace so very quiet. Has a fridge, microwave and coffee machine in the room too. Breakfast was lovely and very filling. The hosts were lovely and very helpful. Cassie the dog is a great asset and good company. Would happily stay here again
We’ve just had a really relaxing wonderful couple of days at ‘The White Cottage’ The views from our lovely room were spectacular, and only a short walk to the harbour. The owners were really friendly and of course Cassie the dog was a great attraction for us. The breakfasts were scrumptious. Looking forward to our next stay. Thanks again!!
My friend and I stayed here as we cycled up the east coast. We got such a warm welcome and the place is so lovely we almost considered staying longer. But progress is important and so we only had one night in the Crow’s Nest room. A lovely bath after a long day pedalling, good advice re dinner spots, encouragement to get a good fishy take away and eat on the patio or in the house, all made us feel Ireland of the Welcomes is alive and well.
Just perfect for that sit back and relax looking at the sea break Great walks excellent places to eat very covid focused very comfortable with fantastic direct views of the sea we stayed in the Harbour Master room well worth the extra Jackie and Joe were great host loads of local info and the best dog to play ball with All restaurants will deliver or take away if you fancy a night in we did with a local pizza delivered and Joe very kindly heated plates and gave us his own home made salt for the chips The breakfast are the best I have had all local produce cooked fresh with a great choice Thanks for a great stay will absolutely re visit asap Thanks again for a great staycation during these troubled times
