I’m baffled where the four stars are coming from?? There’s better premier inns. We checked in here Saturday May 14th.. room was on 6th floor. Room very basic. No water. No air-con. Cheap soap. Noisy beside road. Went to the bar/restaurant for a drink and food and was met with have you booked? It was 5:30pm on the day time. We just wanted to have a drink and a sandwich. Loads of empty seats and tables. Unhelpful restaurant manager. He says Just go somewhere else for food but we were in the middle of an industrial estate! No place else to have food. Went to reception to ask for room service and one receptionist contradicted the other, one said ask for a menu and get room service (which was €7 per tray). The other receptionist then said there was no room service. So starving went back up to our room. I decided to go straight back down and order a sandwich or something and I would carry it back up. Same manager in restaurant came up again and asked was I ok? I asked could I order a sandwich and then he declared they had a table. It was so badly run it was like fawlty towers. Vending machines were at the bottom of lifts but the price on the bars/crisps were .95C and then when you had to put your money in it was €1.50. It’s the worst hotel I have been to in years. The staff are rude and unhappy. Check in was blunt. There’s your key. No telling us when breakfast was, no explanation for room room or lifts. Nothing. I paid for breakfast but didn’t bother, hit the road the following morning as I knew it would be awful. The price of the hotel was €231 with parking and breakfast. It was truly awful. I would never stay in a Clayton hotel again.…
The lady that checked us in was very rude, she wasn't interested in us being there at all. The room was basic, no hot water in the taps or the shower. The food was terrible in the bar, we couldn't access the restaurant as it is being renovated. The service was a disgrace, the staff were so rude, they would rather walk over you than serve you. We were left waiting for 47 minutes for our main course, I asked twice what the hold up was and I was told the kitchen was busy. I understand they are a very busy hotel but that is not acceptable for a four star hotel, they do not deserve the four stars. Room service is also falsely advertised. There is posters all over the hotel advertising room service but when I asked reception or the bar staff about it they said they have never offered room service. A total let down of a trip.…
Absolutely disgusted with this hotel. To start no salt on tables when asked for salt was given sachets. Got wings had to ask for bowl to clean hands. Dessert took a lifetime to come out. Brucetta was something my 7 year old would do a better job of. Main was chicken thai curry that was pure water. The rooms had the very basic of facilities. No moisturiser no face cloths. Tried to ring reception for over an hour and a half with no answer tried to call directly from my mobile to reservations reception and restaurant no one would answer. Went down to the reception and was told breakfast will not deliver to room. Dont waste your money. Over priced and terrible service for what was paid. Worst hotel ive stayed in in Ireland. So disappointed 😞 had lunch in IKEA that was 10 times better than what we had. So sorry we came. Breakfast in the morning is looking very bleak.…
Stayed here many times over the years and it really is a good hotel . Great location and reasonably priced . Very accessible to the city and shopping centres . Would recommend for business and pleasure . Staff are excellent and very pleasant. Only downside is the €10 for car parking but it generally balances out as the room rates are good value
Great stay as always. Booked a triple room as was the only option available. I was a solo traveller this time. Asked if I could have a double room instead but they were none available. Was a bit funny being in a room with 3 single beds. The room was spotless as always. The hotel was very very busy. Lots of groups. But it wasn’t an issue - no noise. Just made reception a bit chaotic at times. To order click and collect food, there was a QR code to use. The link was broken though. Location is 3 minutes walk from the luas tram so ideal.
Rooms were well kept and comfortable. Staff was helpful. Bar area was excellent. Fitness room was great. Food is very average and done cafeteria style. Groups overran this hotel so it was chaotic at times in lobby, restaurant and elevators. Great location near LUAS stop.
i have stayed at this Clayton a handful of times and its always a decent enough place to stay. It does have a bit of a feel of an 'airport hote' in that its busy and has a few large groups staying for a short time, but its a nice enough place, clean, modern, tidy, rooms are good, staff friendly. Very handy location for the LUAS Tram Central Park station and also the Aircoach to Dublin airport stops right outside. not really a complaint but breakfast was very busy the day i used it, and the room service click and collect webpage was broken. otherwise a decent place to stay and i'd use again.
We stayed in the Clayton for one night with our 3 young kids. Gorgeous hotel, so conveniently located and the nicest staff I’ve come across in a long time. The only downfall for us was how short our stay was and that we were unable to relax and enjoy the amenities of the hotel a little more because our daughter had a competition and therefore we had to get up super early to leave! Nothing was too much for the staff and they accommodated us so well, we were up early for breakfast due to the competition and the waiting staff and chef rallied around us making it stress free and were so pleasant despite the chaos we brought! The breakfast was lovely. Overall, the stay was such good value despite us having to book two rooms for sleep conveniences with a baby! We certainly hope to get back there at some stage. Highly recommended. Laura C and family…
My friend and I have stayed at this hotel for many years a lot of it when it was Bewleys and have never had any problems. This year the bar was so crowded it was impossible to get served, bar staff were rude and useless, in all the years we’ve been staying there this was the worst. While I understand it was the racing festival weekend and it was mega busy, there didn’t seem to be any plan in place to deal with this. I go to the gold cup and rugby every year and have never experienced such chaos. Next year we will be staying elsewhere.
We stayed at this Hotel for the Dublin racing festival and can’t fault it. The rooms were lovely, great breakfast and there was a shuttle bus to and from the races each day. It’s a short walk to the Luas too so we ate at brickyard and the Sichaun Chinese a few stops up both lovely and would recommend.
