I cannot fault this hotel, even during Covid restrictions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was spotlessly clean. I didn't dine in or use the pool or gym but everything else was perfect. I would happily stay again post restrictions

I visited Castleknock by chance the usual hotel that is used by our company has been turned into a COVID quarantine hotel so was booked into the Castleknock hotel. Apron arrival I was greeted by some of the most friendly staff I have ever met. Nothing was to much trouble. I had a fantastic room over looking the golf course (182). As I couldn’t leave the hotel I tried most things on there menu and was not disappointed. Special thanks to Andrew (made the best bramble cocktail I have had) and Andre there customer service is outstanding making you feel like part of their family. I can’t fault the Castleknock Hotel

Castleknock Hotel and its team came through with a lovely upgrade and great service during the pandemic. We were able to get a lot of essential work done with the super fast broadband and had a few good night's sleep with the blackout curtains and peaceful surroundings (including view of a swan's nest nearby). Highly recommend, especially if you or your business are consciously trying to use Irish and/or cooperative businesses. And thanks for keeping the pool and gym open. They helped loosen some lockdown muscles.

During lockdown, one of my favourite things to do is pop here for a takeaway coffee every day which is literally the best coffee in the area and my new regular spot! The service is always fantastic, so efficient and genuine! Delighted they opened up their takeaway menu as the cocktails are delicious! Really fast service and keep to social distance guidelines - thanks to everyone there :) looking forward to coming here more often when they get to open up fully!

Both myself and my wife had our wedding booked for Castleknock hotel just NYE gone since October 2017. When we booked this all those years ago of course we would never imagined the pandemic that came in 2020. Although this happened we would have thought the hotel would have done all they could to reassure couples throughout this time and to help them in anyway they can. Unfortunately for us we didn't have that experience with such a reputable hotel, as a couple we felt that our wedding was an obstacle for them from down to the room and the cost. 7 weeks out from the wedding we were made aware that there would be a cost increase due to the restrictions, having a cost increase wasn't the issue, the issue was the way it was delivered and the blatent disregard to the awful situation we were already in having to cut numbers. We ultimately had to switch our wedding to another hotel, and Castleknock were very quick to hand us back our money which goes to show they never wanted to host our wedding. I would never step foot in the hotel again.

Dear Eoin, We understand the frustration of every bride and groom during these uncertain times. The reassurance and support of all couples throughout this difficult time is our main priority. We acknowledge you and your partner were disappointed with having to drop your numbers to 27 and live music was not permitted. We were simply abiding by the Government restrictions and it was our understanding you appreciated our help and how accommodating Castleknock Hotel was over the last 6 months during the run-up to your wedding. As you know, our Wedding Manager was available to all couples during the 2020 temporary closures of the hotel and will continue to assist and accommodate couples during these challenging times whilst abiding by all the Government guidelines. In relation to the room and the cost, when government restrictions were advised that only 27 persons were permitted at a wedding, we met with you and offered you an alternative room due to the enforced reduced numbers as we strongly felt that this was the better option for you and more suitable to your numbers. However, you decided to go with the larger room and therefore incurred a room hire charge for this which you appreciated and agreed to. Following on from this you later contacted us to ask if live entertainment could be allowed and unfortunately due to government guidelines we were unfortunately unable to accommodate this. We appreciate that you were disappointed when we advised that entertainment wasn’t permitted especially as your band had advised you that other hotels were allowing them to perform for weddings. Further restrictions were announced on Christmas week resulting in the closure of hotels from 26th December. We spoke to you on a number of occasions and explained that we were awaiting further clarification on the closure and details around the operation of weddings during the closure period. At this stage, you gave us a clear ultimatum in relation to clarification on your wedding and made it very clear that you had sourced an alternative venue which would accommodate all your requirements. As we were not in a position to provide the clarification required at that time, you cancelled your wedding with us. We are extremely surprised and disappointed by your review as we had been extremely accommodating, sympathetic and helpful throughout the planning of your wedding day despite extremely challenging circumstances for both parties. Our wedding couples are extremely important to us and we engaged with you fully at every stage. Ultimately, it was your decision to go with an alternative venue and we were extremely understanding about this with the cancellation at very short notice. The team would like to wish you many years of happy marriage together and we hope you had a very enjoyable wedding day. We are all looking forward to looking after our Brides and Grooms during 2021 under much better circumstances for us all. Kind Regards, Castleknock Hotel
