The exterior of the property, the gardens and the tempting scones and other bakes were very inviting when we arrived here. Unfortunately, the remainder of the experience in La La Cafe just didn’t live up, and needs attention by management as it absolutely has potential. On this sunny day they were serving a garden BBQ. We had to be seated upstairs alone where we felt abandoned. We were directed to the self service BBQ where we congregated for so long, we had to be returned to our seats with sides only, no BBQ. The chef was clearly under severe pressure in a tight space, trying to keep food hot, with no apparent system. By the time we got our BBQ foods, we had eaten our sides out of hunger, and a wide array of BBQ meats/ burgers/ fish were lukewarm warm or cold. We fed this back to our waitress but heard no more about it. Dessert was mediocre at best. Coffee was lovely, and I suspect the cafe might be pros at bakes/ coffees and maybe breakfast. But certainly the lunch was sub par. The ingredients struck us as good quality and as I said there is potential. But at nearly 30e/head it is way off the mark. I would not return.

We were a little disappointed with our stay, we arrived and tried to find the check-in which was located in the theatre next door, it really wasn’t made very clear where we should go. The receptionist was very nice and gave us a map to find our room. We asked what time dinner was and was told that the restaurant was closed because there were no shows on at the theatre, again this wasn’t made clear when we booked. When we finally found our room, it was reasonably clean and tidy, but nothing special, for a room described as boutique it was underwhelming. The bathroom was large with plenty of hot water, but a little tired. Breakfast in the small café was very nice and the staff were very helpful, however overall we weren’t blown away with the place.

We stayed in the japanese pod room. The staffs communication before we went was excellent. I had lots of questions before going. They even got the room ready early for us as kids were tired from travelling and needed rest. Was clean and provided everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They even gave a tour of the theatre room. My children loved it. The decor and having access to the kitchen and outdoor seating area. The garden was beutiful. Would love to come back again.

Thus was very disappointing. The reception was non-existent - a message tacked to the door directing us to the music school 2 doors away where a very busy receptionist did his best to direct us to our room, through a busy cafe and up some stairs. The room was pleasant but cold, and we could get neither internet nor TV. We eventually rang reception where the same busy person said he’d respond. Half an hour later we rang again and got vague replies about the heating, and some internet instructions which did not work. We went out to eat and nothing had changed when we returned, so we eventually went to bed at 9.30 to keep warm. The bed was big and very comfortable. In the morning the shower was strong but lukewarm. The breakfast, in the café downstairs, was excellent and the service pleasant.

Wonderful find for our overnight stay after the Laytown Races. Really luxurious room, very spacious with extremely big comfortable bed. Breakfast was included and taken in another building a few doors down, the whole place is part of a music school I think. Breakfast was really nice with a very good choice of hot food. We didn't have a long stay but enjoyed a walk along the beach in the morning which was lovely, the hotel is a short walk to the train station with good links into Dublin. Definitely recommend.

First Class accommodations and restaurant in a charming olde home. The music themes were a bonus.

The staff were incredible offering great suggestions about Dublin sites and area beaches and walks. Easy, and fast access to Dublin by train

A great find. We arrived late after a concert and we were given a very warm welcome by the night porter . He was polite, friendly, professional and very helpful.
Our pod room was ideal for our overnight stay. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and service in the LaLa restaurant was excellent.

Very nice hotel with fantastic service and staff. Super good service.
Nice classic rooms, we stayed in the suite which was a very nice room. In the same building is a restaurant and pub with a nice garden. 3 min walking distance to "central" Balbriggan. Train to Dublin approx. 30 min, close to many golf courses.
