We were travelling as a group of motoring friends around Donegal for a week in 12 cars, we arranged a stop for lunch at Teac Jack. I think it is essential and important at the moment to confirm that during our 8 day tour at the beginning of September this Restaurant confirmed with Covid-19 recommendations more than any other location we visited. On arrival we were all requested at reception to confirm our contact information, details of past information over the last 14 days. The seating arrangements were divided, all staff had face coverings etc., everything was in compliance with recommendations. The Menu was extensive with great food choices, when the food arrived it was all as described. We had a very enjoyable lunch break under the professional guidance of staff, management in these unfortunate times. A special thank you to all for the extra effort in complying to help in keeping your customers safe. More should follow your example.…
My working stay was just perfect. Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, great food, and stunning weather - what's not to like?! And the attitude to covid was perfect - lots of precautions, sanitiser everywhere - the arrangements helped me to feel totally comfortable. My room was very comfortable in a lovely homely sort of way; it is not a modern building and this is reflected in the size of the rooms - large! Hotel rooms were so lovely and spacious in the past. Everything was great
Stayed here for one night, extremely comfortable rooms, warm & cozy! Had a nice sea view and 6 friends came to meet for breakfast and for €7 the quality and service was super! shauna served us and nothing was too much trouble..
Teac Jac at first seemed very old worldy for me but it's charm grew on me quick. The hotel was large and in a very scenic setting. The rooms were immaculately clean and the reception was lovely and friendly. The dinner menu presented could do with updating in it's form (it was flimsy) but the selection of food was very impressive. Better again, everyone in our group of 6 considered the meal delicious. It was a credit to the hotel offering a broad selection and a great meal. I would recommend the goats cheese, fried brie or veggie pasta, calamari.. the list goes on, we ate a lot.
This is an absolutely fabulous, hotel in which I stayed last Wednesday. The staff went out of their way to make me & my friend welcome. The fact that I speak albeit poor Irish made the visit more memorable!! This is a superb hotel & very cheap!! Well done to all the incredibly helpful staff. Sadly, The next night at The Beach Hotel in Mullaghmore in Sligo was a disaster! I actually had to buy a jar of Jam in Paddys Place on Friday morning. As a retired Director of Purchasing in the Hotel Sector, this hotel does not deserve to remain in business. We could have stayed at Lough Eske Castle Hotel for the same price but that hotel was fully booked on last Thursday, its a five star hotel & was my biggest customer in Donegal. We would have been gauranteed a pot of jam!! A young boy at an adjacent table had glass in his sausages. 5 stars for Teac Jack & minus 5 for the Beach Hotel in Mullaghmore (2 reviews in 1).
