After trawling the net for days trying to find suitable accomodation for a 3 day stay near Donegal, I came across Mayrone House and it was perfect! The house and location are beautiful, and we had the warmest of welcomes from Anne the owner who was happy to recommend somewhere local to eat that evening. We booked two rooms, and both were spacious and, like the rest of the house, spotlessly clean. The beds were really comfortable. There was a plentiful supply of water, hot drinks and biscuits in the rooms, and a fantastic breakfast each day. The food was beautifully cooked and served with lots of smiles by both Anne and her husband Mick. They gave us some great tips on places to visit, and Donegal and the surrounding areas are truly stunning. We were traveling with my Mum and her needs were taken into consideration both in the house and in the tips for visits. I would recommend Mayrone House to anyone wanting to visit this area of Ireland and we hope to return. Anne and Mick are born hosts and made our short trip a really special one.…

We travelled to Ballybofey for a GAA match, my partner booked Mayrone House because the reviews were fantastic & he liked the look of the place on the website. We were greeted by the wonderful owner Anne from Tyrone who informed us that her husband was a Mayo man when we said we were up for the Mayo v Donegal game supporting Mayo 😁. Coincidence or what - all the other guests were also from Mayo! Mayrone is combination of Mayo & Tyrone - love the uniqueness of the name! Loved everything about the place, the room was a great size, seriously comfortable bed, gorgeous view, tea/coffee/biscuits & water in the room, fluffy towels & impeccably clean. Anne ordered us a taxi into town & advised us to book one to come back later - good advice on a busy night!! There was a great selection of cereals, fruit & yogurts in the morning followed by a scrumptious fried breakfast! My other half rarely eats a fry but loved this one. Mick, Anne’s husband was in hand for the breakfast and the chats leading up to the big game. Throughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend to anyone needing a base to see the beautiful Donegal. Easily the best B&B I have stayed in. The hosts were welcoming and able to provide recommendations on where to eat in the town. The house and gardens are beautiful and the room was large and, comfortable with a spacious en suite. Delicious breakfast with a variety of cereals, yoghurts etc and a delicious Full Irish. The house is in a quiet location a three minute drive from the town which has numerous shops, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. Parking is free after 6 pm in the town centre. There is also a department store in the town , McElhinney's which is worth a visit. WIfi is both available and reliable. A stay here is real value for money.

This was the loveliest B&B we stayed at during our 10 day trip to Ireland, and the best breakfast. The home is beautiful, and our bedroom was very pretty and comfortable. Our hostess thought of every detail. A full Irish breakfast is offered, as well as cereals, toast, jams and honey. The coffee and tea were delicious. I highly recommend it! Our hostess was generous in giving us advice about restaurants, sightseeing, etc.

One of the nicest B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland. The room was clean, large and comfortable and it was clear that the hostess has a fine eye for detail. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Hostess was accomodating -- even gave me a bottle of shampoo for the road when I ran out. Highly recommended.
