My parents visited here in June. They had such an amazing time & the Killeen family really made their trip special. Fabulous rooms over looking the sea, breakfast and a dinner were above and beyond. Their kindness really made my parents trip one to remember. A beautiful house, spotlessly clean rooms, ideal location & everything you need for your stay. My mum (who is not on trip advisor) praised their hospitality so highly I couldn’t not write a review on her behalf. . Thank you kindly & I look forward to visiting you soon.
On a walking trip recently we booked in to Killeens Hotel for a two night stay. This property is run by husband and wife team Padraic and Cynthia who are a Dublin couple who have been running the business for over 10 years. It overlooks a beautiful little beach with harbor and slipway on the south side of Arranmore Island. Although we were the only guest during our stay the warm welcome, the blazing fire in the bar and the exceptional hospitality would certainly encourage us to return - and soon! We were served fresh fish with vegetables and potatoes followed by Apple Pie and Ice Cream on our first night which was well prepared and presented. A full "Irish" breakfast with porridge, fresh fruit and delicious homemade brown bread set up for our walk on day two. The weather was foul but was more than compensated by a Lobster Salad and a bowl of really delicious Seafood Chowder which is a house specialty when we returned. The accommodation was spotless and the beds were comfortable and bed linen, towels etc. crisp and fresh. Although approximately 3 km from the ferry Killeens offer a transport service. A voluntary contribution to the Life Boat is optional. The ferries from Burtonport run hourly. We strongly recommend this establishment for its professionalism and warm hospitality.…
Myself and my b’friend stayed for a long weekend at this incredibly special place 💗 Cynthia and Paraig made us feel like we were actually part of the family! The food, the views and the atmosphere amazing! Everybody has to visit once in their lifetime
Hi was on Arranmore for a few days in August and decided to take a walk over to Aphort and drop in at Killeens for a refreshment, was told that it would not be open and that was correct but on meeting the owners outside they kindly opened the premises for us and the four of us had the best day of our break there, the owners could not have been more inviting or friendly and we spent the rest of the day and night there and had a great time, the view has got to be up there with the best on this beautiful island. And to top it all of Paidraig even drove us home, don't pass it by if you are out that way, will definitely be back if the owners are still there in the summer, Slainte.
We were fortunate to stumble across this place recently. All other options were either booked out or not very nice. Fortunately the owners were so kind and sympathetic they opened a room at very short notice for us. The setting is serene overlooking a peaceful fishing harbour and Irish meadows. The room was comfortable and clean and everythin worked perfectly. Breakfast was delicious. The hosts were ultimately the highlight and were so warm and friendly sparing no effort to make us feel welcome.
We added Arranmore Island to our plans after arriving in Ireland and decided we wanted to see where my husband's family had come from. We called Kileens and talked to Paula when we booked. When we arrived a few days later, she'd arranged a meeting with a local woman who knew the history of the island. How thoughtful! The hotel is nicely maintained and has everything you need to be comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and everyone who works there was friendly and thoughtful.
Stopped for a bite to eat while exploring Aranmore island. Great food, friendly service, lovely location. Would recommend for a home cooked meal and a relaxed atmosphere. Lots of outdoor tables overlooking the sea.
This place is stunning. Everywhere you look the scenery is out of this world. If you want to get away from it all and totally relax, this is the place for you! The quietness, tranquility and peacefulness of this place makes me want to go back asap. The killeens are amazing hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them. They will go out of their way to accommodate their guests. Breakfast is very tasty and plenty of it! Great start to the day. Don't go to the island and expect to have an abundance of food at any time, it's not the way it is there! If there's something you like to eat, snack wise or other, bring it with you, there's only 2 shops on the island with limited stock and opening hours. You'll get plenty of alcohol though! Thank you!!

Stayed in this lovely family run hotel for one night on our Wild Atlantic Trip around the coast of Donegal. We got such a warm and gracious welcome when we arrived. We were met by Paula who showed us to our room, which had a fabulous sea view, the room was warm, cosy and spotless, the attention to detail was first class. After a tour of the island we returned to the hotel to be welcomed by a big log fire, the bar was full of character and charm,we thoroughly enjoyed the craic and banter with Padraigh and Cynthia. Breakfast was excellent and the food was so fresh, the service was second to none, beautiful fresh flowers and plants welcomed you into the restaurant as in the outside of the hotel which was adorned with array of colour. We really enjoyed our stay with the Killeen family and thanks for making it so memorable,we will be back.
