Warm, quiet with excellent service. Quality food. Generous portions. Excellent value. A great find. This was a welcome treat after a day on the road. We would definitely recommend it and return. Thank you.
I thought they did a great job of our carvery lunch here. The ice cream sundaes and brownies were excellent. There was a good family atmosphere that was welcoming. The waiting staff were helpful and attentive.
Visited the parkway hotel gor lunch today with family& Friends had a lovely Carvey Lunch the staff were very friendly especially Dolores who served us along with the other staff members who seemed to be all good humoured and had a smile for everyone.will definitely be returning.
Have always ment to pop in & try when on my holidays. Called in for Sunday carvery. Staff were lovely & friendly, great chat , assisted with my dietary needs portions , amazing food good & hot. Fantastic selection food on the move , & constantly being refilled. Was a proper homemade Sunday lunch prices great. & they have jugs cold water & cordial so excellent if your with kids on a budget , fantastic bar staff lovely. Place dated. But your there for the great food & good service will definitely do Sunday lunch there from now on. Well done only wish I had called in sooner 👍❤️ ,
Stayed for two nights as a last minute base to spend time with family - whilst a basic enough premises it delivers on the quality of its food, service and staff - all are excellent and whilst it like many hotels is suffering from staffing issues it has made the sensible decision to cut hours and deliver good service rather than maintain service hours with less staff and the problems that can bring. So for my stay both bar and restaurant were top notch however opening hours were restricted but it's location meant if you wanted a later night, options were close by but I and family ate there both nights and were very happy with menu, service and value. Breakfast was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend hotel but note that whilst food and hospitality were excellent, facilities like mentioned in other reviews is maybe dated but in my book service, friendliness & food count for a lot, cleanliness was also spot on and I noted they have a longtime bunch of regular diners both at lunch and dinner which is always a good sign. Well done to a great local hotel amid these difficult times and for some great food!…
We ate lunch in the restaurant today and the food was first of all over priced for what we got and 2nd it was very poor , we had blts & it came with the smallest portion of chips and coleslaw was definitely not home made, it was aldis we were thinking. Then a waitress that was on duty just stood beside us for most of the duration we were there which made us very uncomfortable, overall our experience wasn’t great and we won’t be returning any time soon ,
Excellent Carvery. Very friendly staff. Accomodation clean and good value. Had breakfast by open fire really nice. Staff and food were excellent. Private parking which is not guaranteed with all hotels. Would stay again. Room was warm and comfortable.
Just returned from a 1 night stay and will be in no rush back. Originally booked for 2 ngts and had to reduce to a one night stay. Had messaged the hotel twice before arriving and got no response either time. Checked in with zero conversation, bordering on rudeness, even had to ask where the room was, given a piece of paper with meal times and that was the sum total of information given to us. Room 24 was grand, fairly clean and standard 3 star room. Smallest TV I've ever seen in the bedroom and the whole place is very dated but it's clean. Our toilet leaked every time it flushed but by the time we returned to the room it was quite late so we didn't report it until the next morning when the smell was disgusting , stagnant sewer water is not a nice thing to wake up to. We dined in the restaurant and the food was mediocre at best, brie starter was nice, vol au vent was ok, wasnt fresh and the chicken very rubbery. Steak sandwich was good and well presented as was the cajun chicken salad but the chicken again very chewy and not good quality. Service overall was annoying as the staff congregated around our table, very off putting. Couldn't get into the bar as it was jam packed so they allowed us sit in the restaurant to watch the all ireland. Service was good here but a bit annoying being asked every 2 minutes if we wanted drinks which having full glasses in front of us. There were 2 male managers walking around without masks, appeared to be going in and out for coffee breaks, and the girl who had checked us in seemed to be a manager (based on her uniform) and she was setting tables as the staff stood around chatting. All the staff were very young and appeared quite new, they were very friendly and trying their best but the managers didn't seem too bothered so why would the staff. We got back to the hotel approx 10.45pm and thought we'd have a night cap but the bar was like a teenager disco, over spill out the front door. Honestly it was disgusting , no masks, no social distancing. Waited almost 15 mins for service at the bar. Then took drinks outside where the security guard allowed us to sit in the outdoor dining area even though it was closed. Went in to get a second drink to be told no more Service, didn't matter that we were residents. Took the end of our drinks to the room because the bar was emptying out and it was quite uncomfortable and annoying. Didn't have breakfast and checked out as soon as we could, not much sleep due to parties going on in surrounding rooms . When checking out the receptionist was friendly and apologised profusely about the bathroom leak, it's a pity we didn't get a friendly check in as it genuinely put us off to a bad start. For €109 room only this was over priced and under delivered. A disappointing stay overall and won't be going back.…
Stayed in the parkway for 8 nights while doing a power washing job in the town, it was as nice a stay as I ever had , place was spotless, room comfortable , food ( breakfast and dinner) was absolutely lovely, tasty , well presented and plenty of it , the pints were top class ( even though i only had a few each night because of work) but the staff were brilliant, helpful, happy, chatty, they treated me like one of the family, I don't think I ever was treated as well in all the places I've been, would happily stay again and recommend, John Ames,
I stayed in this fantastic hotel for two nights from 21st to 23rd February.I would give it 10 out of 10 it was excellent and I will most definitely come back. The staff were so welcoming and warm, the food was delicious and big portions and the rooms were so very comfortable. It was reasonably priced and I would recommend it to everyone. Congratulations to everyone in the Parkway Hotel.God bless
