I had a very lovely stay here! The room was comfortable and lovely, the host was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed my stay very much, and wish I had more than one night.
Mary and James have a beautiful, clean, cosy and welcoming Country House. The breakfast, (to your taste,) was always hot and delicious! Our room and bed were comfortable and immaculate. I would recommend this lovely B&B to anyone!
Our stay at the Corofin Country House was very good. The grounds are expansive and kept well. The location is really good because it's right next to this quaint village with a really cool pub called Bofey Quinns. Good breakfast and good quiet area to relax for a night.
Jim and Mary have a very beautiful home. It is clean, comfortable, spacious, and welcoming. We wish we would have stayed here longer. The breakfast was delicious and Mary was a wonderful hostess. After hours, we went down to the local pub in town called Boffy Quinns, where local owner and bar tender, Nile, shared his wonderful food, drink, friends, and wonderful entertainment. He even got me to sing in public. Had a blast! On Wed and Sat. they have open mike entertainment, which is such a joy to be a part of. Try the Corofin Smoked fish pie. It is excellent!! This B& B in the wonderful town is a true diamond in the ruff. We look forward to visiting again! This was the most disappointing B&B for me and my husband through our time in Ireland. We both felt negative vibes from the hostess upon arrival, as if she was inconvenienced that we were there. She stood against the doorframe of our room with her arms crossed after showing us in. The conversation didn’t flow like it did in other B&Bs. When asked what we wanted for breakfast, my husband asked for a full Irish since he hadn’t tried one. He was willing and wanting to try the black and white puddings and though she did offer it, she seemed a little put out because, according to her, people don’t like it. When asked about dinner, she basically scoffed at us saying “there’s only one place to eat here.” When we went back into town, there were several places that had food but were just closed for the day. The pub she recommended was very good. The room itself at first glance was nice. But then when you get a closer look, it was dirty. There were cobwebs and spiders in the corner of the bedroom, cobwebs in the bathroom and a thick layer of dust on the lampshade over the sink (the lamp didn’t even work). There was a piece of grass with a chunk of mud hanging on the wall in the small bathroom. The shower water box (that controls the water temperature) was dirty. Thinking maybe it was just discolored because of time, I decided to clean it myself. It wasn’t discolored - it need a good scrubbing because the grime had just accumulated over time. The shower didn’t drain well. Breakfast somewhat redeemed our experience. The hostess was in a better mood than the evening before and the food was good. Maybe she was just cranky or having a bad day the evening before, maybe she is a morning person vs an evening person. But as a business owner I know that you can be in whatever mood behind closed doors but in front of customers you need to have a smile on your face and not let anyone know you are not having a good day. Based on our first impression of the hostess and the uncleanliness of the room, we would not return nor recommend to anyone.…
Corofin Country House is set on a country lane and stands out for its classic beauty. Our host were welcoming and warm. Our rooms were stately and beautiful. We shared our breakfast table with a couple from the United States who were there for a family reunion. We were directed to a pub in the village, which is only a short walk, where we were treated to a true Irish experience. The food was delicious and were able to listen to lovely music played by the towns people who came into share a tune, a story and a pint! When we returned from the village, it had begun to mist outside. Then the house came into view. It was all lit up and inviting us to come in. It was my husband's, myself and our daughters first time to Ireland but it will not be our last. We are still talking about our "magical" night at Corofin Country House. and the village of Corofin. The best of Irish hospitality!…
Amazing night, in a very warm and welcoming B&B. I went there because Corofin hostel was closed and I do not regret it one second ! Mary and her husband are great host and they will really make you feel at home and give you nice advise on what to do in the region and they even saved me after I lost my phone. P.S : Mary made me the best porridge I ever had for breakfast.
The owner was very friendly and welcoming! The room was very nice for my son and I! We chose to walk into town and met some of the nicest bar owners ever at small pub in the town! The home is very clean and beautiful! Great location to see many of the popular sights.
* Good size double room overlooking the extremely attractive garden * Comfortable large double bed * Small TV, 2 wardrobes * Some tea and coffee making but no milk or fridge * 5 rooms upstairs, no more than 3 when we were here (3 nights) might be noisy if full * Hosts friendly and helpful. I left my camera behind and Mary was extremely accommodating in helping me get the parcel couriered back to me in Dublin. * 2 breakfast rooms, one communal table in each, both lovely light rooms with garden outlook. * Breakfast was juice, cereals, yoghurt. Full Irish cooked breakfast, cheese and fruit. All extremely good. * Only downside was the bathroom. Ensuite a bit cramped, but larger than some other b&bs we have stayed in. Shower good size and good water pressure and temperature but no shelf to put anything. No soap provided. Some leftovers from previous guests. * 5 min drive to town * Doesn't have as much in Corofin town as you might think. There is a good takeaway shop. The walk in is possible but quite dangerous for the pedestrian. Difficult in most of Ireland with small county lane's, blind corners and no footpaths. All it takes is a car to come round one of those corners too quickly! * Hair dryer but nowhere to plug in near a mirror * Free excellent wifi * Free bus to Burren from town every half hour in July and August * Ennis is only a 15 min drive away and the property is an easy drive to many other centres in Clare, including the Cliffs of Moher. * Would recommend. We had a very nice stay…
We were very lucky to get this last minute as a cottage we rented was awful and we couldn't stay there. The owners are such lovely people and nothing was too much trouble. Immaculately clean with delicious breakfast. A truly beautiful place to stay and great value. Thank you for a lovely experience.
