This guest house is an unusual jewel, in that, apart from the friendly and very cultured family that run it, the food is absolutely fantastic. Local ingredients, but not the standard fill-you-up-to-bursting Irish country meals (unless that's what you want) but highly creative and very tasty meals, way beyond the standard of most restaurants. I have stayed there three times now, and its charm never fades.
Mary and Declan provide an experience that is unforgettable! The house is so lovely, the breakfast is amazing, the beds incredibly comfortable! Mary and Declan are so warm and charming! Hoping I can return one day!
Words cannot describe the beauty of this property. The grounds are breathtaking. The home is lovely, you just settle in and become a part of it. A group of us were there during a tour with Wild West Irish Tours and we enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings. The rooms were sparkling clean and had the most amazing personal touches. The beds were dreamy, we awoke well rested every morning. And then there are the breakfasts....the worst part of our stay here was making the decision on what to choose for breakfast because everything was so very delicious. I took a picture of the menu and still drool over it. Mary and Declan were the best, you couldn't find better hosts anywhere. Do not hesitate to book this b&b, you won't be disappointed. Staying here is almost worth a trip to Ireland.…
Mary was away during our 4-night stay, but Declan and their son, Donnchadagh (pronounced Donaka), were perfect hosts. We enjoyed delicious homemade breakfasts, we appreciated Declan's guidance to touring the area, including off-the-beaten-track hiking routes of The Burren and the Cliffs of Moher and information about and directions to lesser known sights. It was a pleasure to meet and learn about this wonderful family that approaches everything: hosting guests, preparing food, and gardening with such loving care. Although there was no wifi in the rooms, there was wifi in the drawing room in front of fire, which Declan stoked throughout the evening.
We had the most wonderful night’s sleep in beautiful surroundings. Mary provided us with a map and detailed instructions for visiting the area. We thoroughly enjoyed the unique landscape of the Burren and the perfumery. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.
Mary and Declan are wonderful hosts. Fergus View will provide you with insider information, a stunnig garden, lovely rooms and great breakfast with lots of special treats. We spent total 16 days in Ireland and the 3 day stay with Mary and Declan in the Burren was the best choice.
fergus view was our last stay on our trip through the western part of ireland. this b&b is a jewel! the whole house is designed and decorated very lovely. a warmth lies in the details. and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. worth to come back.
Just returned from a cycling trip in Ireland and spent 2 wonderful days at Fergus View with 2 friends. This was my second stay having spent a few days there with my family 4 years ago. Mary and Declan were again excellent hosts, providing warm and friendly hospitality, as well as useful hints for dining and sightseeing. There is so much to do nearby. A fantastic base for cycling. And the Irish breakfasts with homemade breads and jams were delicious.
My mom and I stayed here for one night in mid June while on a two week driving trip through Ireland. This place is a sure bet and I would concur with other reviewers. The owners obviously take great pride in their home and this was evident in the quality and tastefulness of the house decor and our room. We definitely felt welcomed at Fergus View and especially appreciated host Mary's attention to detail in preparing and serving an amazing full breakfast. Also, when we arrived, Mary recommended a local pub/restaurant which we went to and were not disappointed. In a country with many gems, this is just another...
I came across this B+B by chance when I was visiting Ireland recently, to discover on arrival that it has received a 'best in Ireland' award. Thoroughly deserved! Food and hospitality was excellent and the accommodation was a very high standard. you won't be disappointed with a stay here.
