We stayed here in a 2 bed apartment adjacent to the bed and breakfast which is in the main house. It is fully self contained with an en suite in each bedroom. The beds are so comfortable and I had the best weeks sleep! There is a washer/dryer which came in very handy. Fast broadband and a good selection of TV channels. Tony and Mairead are excellent hosts and they provided a welcome pack of food. We also had the breakfast one of the days and it was delicious. Would stay again without a doubt. And Fred the donkey was a real bonus. Bring polo’s and carrots!
Would have no hesitation recommending this B+B...proprietors Mariead and Tony are fantastic welcoming and accommodating helpful people....Room of high standard very clean bed very comfortable, shower fabulous high power and refreshing, tea/coffee available in the Room, and TV.....Breakfast fab good selection......Organise by bringing us up to our wedding in the town when we arrived and drop our stuff to our Room......If back in Bagnallstown will differently return and if availability is will be staying here......Tks a mill Mariead/Tony. Regards Stella and Declan Co.Offaly.....
Friendly attitude of both Tony and Mairéad really made it felt like our own home. Travel to Kilkenny Town, nearby restaurants and train station was done by Tony. It made us so easy to go through the places in Kilkenny and Bagenalstown. Thank you so much for making our trip a memorable one. I highly appreciate your cooperation and recommended to all who visits Bagenalstown and Kilkenny.
We received such an incredible warm welcome from Mairead and Tony ! They really could not have done more for us from booking us dinner in a nearby hotel to bringing us to and from our canoe. The house is lovely and the breakfast is fantastic ... we will definitely stay there again if we are in the area !
Probably the best BnB I've ever stayed in! The place was very comfortable and clean. We were greeted with great hospitality, as well as tea and biscuits!! Breakfast was great. And we were even given bananas and home-made scones to take with us on our cycle for the day. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
There is always the dilemma of telling people when you've found the "perfect place" to stay; do you sing its praises or keep it to yourself as a secret treasure?! We arrived quite late on a Friday evening but Mairead and her husband could not have been more welcoming. They took us to our lovely room and even helped get us to their recommended restaurant (which certainly didn't disappoint either!). the breakfasts were fantastic and the location perfect for our needs in nearby Bagenalstown. Thank you very much indeed, both of you. You made our stay that little bit more special and for this we are most grateful. My apologies if you now become overwhelmed with TripAdvisor readers!
My parents stayed here for one night booking at very short notice. The B&B was great, a very warm welcome, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, very generous portions, great choice and really tasty. Really accommodating as we requested an earlier check in due to an early flight and this request was agreed which was a great help. Thank you, my parents would definitely stay at Orchard Grove again.
We got such a warm welcome on arrival from Mairead. She then provided us with a cuppa and cake .Well needed ,Mairead then gave us info re where we were going and also gave us advice as to where to eat later on.Bedroom and bed were so cosy warm and comfortable.Breakfast was divine freshy cooked to order ..We will certainly be back.Well done to all at Orchard Grove ..
Warm and welcoming hosts, so talkative and friendly. Our room was immaculate. Excellent recommendation in the nearest town for dinner. Terrific breakfast. Only stayed one night unfortunately. Would definitely stay here if I was in the area again!
On arrival we were given a warm welcome from Joanna. Bedroom number 4 was our room for the one night. A room for three with a double and a single bed. Beautiful linen and lovely duvet covers. The beds were very comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was nice. A proper professional hairdryer was also in the room. The en-suite was immaculate and I would imagine recently up graded. Plenty of bath towels but no hand towels and face cloths for two. Shower gel and shampoo available in the shower from a wall dispenser. We arrived after the wedding ceremony and we were then heading to a wedding in nearby Leighlinbridge. We parked our car for over night and were kindlydriven to the hotel by Joanna and returned by taxi n the small hours and let ourselves in for the night. In the morning we were greeted by the lovely Mairead and shown the dining room, which was lovely and bright. Lovely beams on the ceiling with a country kitchen feel to it. Orchard Grove have a Lovely breakfast menu to choose from. Cereals, yogurt, the full Irish to scrambled egg with smoke salmon. Freshly brewed coffee and a selection of teas available to. We enjoyed our one night in Orchard Grove very much. A very friendly feeling about the place & I would most definitely recommend it to any visitors to the area.…
