Come for the gorgeous views and the even better food, stay for a true, warm welcome that you will never forget. Cannot get over just how warm the welcome is. This part of Ireland is often overlooked, but it is a real hidden gem, and St Kyran's makes a splendid base.
Attended an intimate wedding last weekend in St. Kyran's, outside Virginia, Co. Cavan I had heard about the venue but never before stayed. From the lakeside location to the owner, staff, Christmas ambiance, views to the rear, spacious bedrooms, wonderful service, out of this world dinner it would be difficult to surpass. Some expansion is occurring presently to no doubt wow the next customers.
Had the most amazing night away with my partner in St Kyran’s. Helena was incredible host & made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to go back in 2022 & bring my parents to see the beautiful grounds of house.
What a beautiful place to stay in Ireland. The owners of St. Kyran’s are the most friendly, welcoming and helpful people. We arrived to a warm welcome from Helena the owner who showed us around the house and grounds and it’s absolutely stunning. Our room was huge, comfortable and immaculately clean and was serviced every day. The breakfast was delicious, lots of choices and very very tasty. The view from the dining room is stunning, overlooking the lake, it’s delightful. Helena’s husband Patrick came out to meet us and we literally could have talked to him all day. He has a wealth of knowledge and is very comical too. So relaxed and nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely loved our time with them and will definitely return. Thank you Helena and Patrick, hope to see you again soon xx Steph and Chris from Essex…
My husband and I had a midweek break at this place and it was the best (I mean it) holidays we had so far. The hosts were like loving relatives to us: so warm, friendly and caring. Our room was a great combination of cosiness and functionality. We were stunned by the view and the overall location! And lastly, I got a special farewell present as a freshly baked soda bread which I totally loved during the stay. Btw, food was truly delicious in here. Recommend 10/10!!
This place is a gem! The hosts Helena and Patrick and their family/staff are fabulous at what they do. Their experience shows through. This is a B&B...but that doesn't do it justice. 10 times nicer than most hotels! We had a lake view room, a large spotless, spacious room with a wardrobe/dressing area and an ensuite bathroom. There is everything you could need. Tea/coffee, tv/dvd (with a large dvd selection available), ironing board & iron, hairdryer. The bathroom is beautiful and lovely touches like cotton buds and toiletries. Now we get to breakfast! Well! We recommend the porridge, museli, yogurt and fruit and the omlette. But everything here is delicious. You can prebook a BBQ package to cook your own meat while everything else is done for you. Or book a picnic. Such a lovely experience overlooking Lough Ramor. And that brings us to the 'garden'. Stunning site and views with lovely extras. Picnic tables, parasols should you need one and even stepping stones to a mini island with a seat where you can forget the rest of the world! They have kayaks for guests to use with life jackets. Blankets to lie on and toys for little ones. The lough itself is stunning and you can watch sail boats, kayaks and water skiers. We were lucky to have glorious weather and kept extending our stay..we truly did not want to leave. Helena and Patrick we will be back ASAP!…
Myself and my boyfriend stayed here for a night to break up the journey. It was such a unique stay. The gardens and lake were stunning ! The room was fantastic! Very modern, the comfiest bed and felt very luxurious with a splendid view of the lake. We went kayaking and Patrick was so helpful in showing us where to go on the lake making our adventure brilliant. We loved just sitting on the terrace, watching the sunset and found it to be so peaceful and relaxing. The DVD library was such a nice touch and something so different. Breakfast was 10/10. Helena and Patrick were amazing hosts and we felt just like we were at home , We can't wait to go back for another weekend - and of course to see our two furry friends.
We had our wedding in this establishment last November 2019 and I really don't know where to start with this review. From the initial meeting we were made to feel so special and any request we had was no problem at all. Upon checking in on the morning of our wedding it became apparent very quickly that we were at home. Our day was so memorable and we can only attribute that to the amazing staff at an amazing venue with amazing food. We cannot recommend this place enough and we are devastated that due to current restrictions we cannot spend our first anniversary there but we hope to be back soon Lots of love Ailbhe and Patrick 💜
We absolutely loved our stay at St Kyrans Country House. We got a warm welcome, and a room with a fabulous view (second to none!) The host made every possible effort to make this stay unforgettable. Breakfast was great! A top place, can’t recommend it high enough, we definitely will be back. 10 out of 10 all the way!
Absolutely love this place. Helena the Host is so lovely and friendly.A peaceful and beautiful setting, breakfast was lovely and plentiful, view from dining room is stunning..I had a lake view room and it really is a tonic to spend time sitting and relaxing at the lake..lovely coffee shop in Virginia, and if you fancy a quick bit of retail therapy,a nice boutique on main Street did the trick..planning my next visit already..
