Unfortunately, my trip was canceled within 3 days of our scheduled trip and I was charged for the entire 2 nights I had scheduled. But my confirmation said I would only be charged basically one nights costs if I canceled within 4 days of my visit. After several phone calls I finally spoke with Lisa, the manager who explained their system to me. After several days of waiting for the refund, I blasted them on a follow up survey not knowing that Lisa was processing the credit. She emailed me today that the credit had been processed. Guess I've been retired too long to remember the paperwork quagmire. This review is an apology to Lisa and her crew for the fabulous job they did despite my pushiness.
I called on our way in from North Carolina to make sure a late check in would be ok. I got out on hold and after 10 minutes, I called back and was told, “Oh yeah. I checked that’s fine.” So she checked but couldn’t remember to tell me?! When we checked in, we immediately noticed an odd odor in our room. The manager said it was the cleaning they do for COVID. I thought I was experiencing seasonal allergies. Then after sleeping in the room for two days, I opened up the curtains and noticed black mold growing around the window. Then we walked through the room and saw that it was on the bathroom vent and the grout line where the tub and floor meet. My spouse went to the front desk. Both the manager and the woman who said she cleaned our room went in and looked. The cleaning person said, she cleaned the room. My spouse pointed out the mold and she said it was “dirt.” He said, but you just said you cleaned the room? It got a little heated. They moved us to a different room... and the smell we noticed in the first room was totally non-existent. Clearly what we smelled from day one was the mold. AND what I thought were allergy symptoms, cleared up within a few hours. Luckily corporate worked out basically refunding us for the first two nights. However, it’s super disheartening to hop onto TripAdvisor and see people have stayed there after us and have not received any better service. And COVID is no excuse for dirty sheets, rooms, lack of towels and crummy food. Actually, quite the opposite. Rooms, bedding and towels should be cleaner than ever and being able to actually prepare food and serve it individually should allow for a more customer friendly meal.…
I’m not one who writes reviews, but was very disappointed with this hotel and writting to alert people. First, we booked a king size bed and got a room with 2 queen size beds... maybe our fault because we did not read the booking confirmation... ok, sheets were dirt, we had to go down to request new set of sheets and change ourselves. Breakfast was grab and go due to covid. I would expect at least eggs, toast, fruit and yogurt. We got 1 sausage and 3 potato sticks on the box... could not eat... we did not get room service and when we asked about it, the service lady said we should request it, otherwise they do not do it due to covid... I wish I had been told at check-in time ... now, couldn’t they do the other way around, not providing service upon request??? 🤔 we requested room service for 5 pm or after for the next day as my husband was working in the room during the day. The reception lady said it would be ok. We left by 5 pm and when we got back at around 9 pm no room service... called reception and asked at least for towels, the lady told she would bring in 15 minutes which never happened. 4 days with no room service, no breakfast and no pool. Covid is the excuse... and nobody wearing mask...…
I really wish this hotel could get their act together because it is the only hotel in Jonesborough. I am originally from this area. I’ve stayed here three times. The last time I swore would be my last because my sister and I had to move three times because the rooms weren’t clean. I wish it could be like the first time I stayed in 2019. It was so much nicer then. What has happened to this hotel? My mom worked in the hotel/motel business for many years. It has to be poor management. Please someone help this place before it goes completely to the dogs.
We were told by our friends that we were going to visit that this was a really great affordable hotel so we made reservations. With the price tag that came with the room I was expecting a lot more. No chairs in the rooms and no room. There was a faint smell on feces throughout the the entire hotel. And the service, lets just say you could have gotten better service being booked into jail. The desk clerk was rude and acted like we were an aggravation to her to take care of. I will not be staying here again.
