When our car broke down about an hour away from Grange Manor two days ago we thought we would have to cancel our stay there. However, the day was saved when our host Frank collected us from Thomastown and ferried me back the following day to collect it. The house as you can see from the photos is gorgeous and very comfortable. It is ideally situated close to Kilkenny where you can visit the sights, enjoy fine dining and return to the house in the evening and watch the stars with no light pollution to interfere with your vista. We enjoyed walking around the extensive grounds and stayed in the Lady Dowdall suite which has a magnificent four-poster bed in a large beautifully decorated room with a dressing room and an old clawfoot bath but also with a great shower. I enjoyed a long soak in the bath watching the darkening evening sky. Bliss. But what makes this house is the kindness and warmth of our hosts Mary and Frank who made us feel so welcome. Great care has been taken by them to ensure that Grange Manor meets the Covid-19 health and safety standards and we felt very safe in the house. The advantage of such a house is that it has only six bedrooms so they can control their environment easily. I highly recommend staying at Grange Manor as a destination in itself or if you are visiting Kilkenny or en route to Killarney or the south of the country from Dublin.

My friends and l arrived to the aroma of beautiful freshly baked scones which Mary served with a selection of jams and cream. Our rooms were so beautiful with big comfy beds and private dressing room and a lovely free standing bath overlooking the wonderful countryside. While l was out walking around the estate by the river Nore l saw a heron with her babies and pheasants roam everywhere. We asked for a vegetarian option for breakfast and were not disappointed,we had French toast complete with berries and maple syrup.we also had divine porridge with honey and cream and of course more of Mary's scones . It is a dream place to stay .Mary & Frank were really great hosts and gave us a lovely history of the manor. Social distancing was not a problem as the house is really large .l cannot recommend this place highly enough and l can't wait to return .

This is a beautiful old house with great and varied history. All safety and hygiene covid 19 prevention measures were being observed during our stay. The house is spotlessly clean. Excellent home baking and choices on breakfast menu. A great welcome and excellent service given by Frank and Mary. Such a comfortable four poster bed. A quiet setting in the countryside with fresh air and room to walk in the grounds. Lovely to watch the cranes that were nesting by the river from our bedroom window and the pheasants pecking on the driveway. At a time when crowds aren't safe, this is an ideal spacious and gracious place for a getaway.

What a beautiful Manor in the countryside! We had a comfortable, clean period room for one night with a modern en-suite shower room. Mary was very accommodating and we had the most amazing full breakfast with delicious warm scones! Thank you from the Maltese / Irish sisters!

Grange Manor is in rural Kilkenny and oh so quite. Its perfect. Only 20 mins from Kilkenny City by car allows you to experience the excellent cuisine and tourist attractions of the city. It is also a great base for further travel south to Waterford, Cork & Kerry using the motorways. The Manor is a magnificent house, beautifully kept and run by Mary and Frank. Top marks for the welcome you get and the service they provide throughout your stay. Breakfast is excellent and Mary caters for "non Irish Breakfast" diners so fab menu. BTW, the room was spotless and I slept like a log! Thank you Mary and Frank.
