I have tent camped at Palmer Gulch KOA twice. Pros: Very large facility always has room. Great restaurant and bar. Great store. Great Location. Great bathrooms/shows. Cons: No Cell Service. Large facility means that I always have to walk a long way to get to the bathroom/shower. Always lots of people at Palmer Gulch. If you are looking for a... More

The first impression of this KOA makes is it's sheer size. It's huge! Check-in was fast and easy and the people that take you to your site were friendly. We were in site 620, in the far end of the campground. It was a pull through, but because it was at the end, it made it awkward to get out.... More

This is our fifth time to the KOA and we will be back again. There are more than enough activities for the entire family and the park is well staffed to accommodate everyone. It is a busy park with campers coming/going at all hours so don't expect solitude but this campground is organized to handle the volume of visitors. Since... More

They accommodated our request to be next to our travel partner's RV. Fire pits at each campsite were great! The store has about everything you need. We had the pizza one night and it was yummy. The kids enjoyed the fee putt putt, the mining, the ping pong and many more kids activities! The whole family enjoyed the $3/person all... More

We recently stayed here while touring Mount Rushmore. Traveling with twin 11 year old boys in a small tent trailer we should have booked more than 2 night here! The place is massive yet it doesn't feel that way, maybe it was the section we were in. There is a TON of things to keep the boys occupied, water slide,... More

This is a huge KOA resort with lots of things to do. During the peak summer travel season, it is very busy. My husband and I traveled with another couple and had two very large tent campsites with plenty of space to set up our tent and park. Water was easily accessible. Overall, the tent campsite was great. Location is... More

Kids loved this place. So many activities, swimming, mini golf, jumpy things, movies, basketball, sand volleyball, water slide, etc. Ice cream, wine tastings, pizza, gift shop. Wine tasting was not very good, but we were pleased to see they tried. Mainly sweet wine and most bottles had been opened up to 2 weeks prior. Had to ask for an actual... More

We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins (sleeps 6 version), and it was WONDERFUL! We had a queen bedroom, a bunk room with 2 bunks, a living room/kitchen/dining area, and full bathroom - really just like home inside. And outside, the deck, fire pit, and grill was great. The only thing I would have changed is that a tub... More

We stayed in the hotel. They are quite pleasant. Each room gets either a porch or a balcony. You can even open the windows unlike most hotels. An added bonus is they have a free breakfast. Nothing fancy, waffles, oatmeal, limited fruit, muffins and cereal. There is also a very nice hot tub just for hotel guest so it is... More

The only reason I did not give a 5 rating is just that it felt a bit claustrophobic to me as the park was completely full and personal vehicles were parked kind of everywhere. They have a very efficient and proficient check in and get-you-to-your-spot system. We are a very long rig, 72' w/coach and trailer and they were able... More
