This was our second time staying at Coolmore and it was just as great we remembered. The hosts were very accommodating and we were greeted with hot tea, snacks, and great conversation. We stayed in the same room the first time we were here about four years ago and it was a great reminder of what we loved about being here the first time. They gave great advice on places to have dinner, where to park when going into town, and activities in the area.
I stayed here with my mom and we really enjoyed our hosts Mavis and Eamonn. Mavis was very nice to chat with and she makes some great breakfast! Eamonn was kind enough to show us around the farm. I would love to return if I ever get the chance!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coolmore Farmhouse. They operate a farm as well, it was very interesting to see the cows and horses up close. About a 25-30 minute ride into Kilkenny with many fun activities and sights to be seen. Also nearby the Nicholas Mosse pottery store/facility and Waterford Crystal. Mavis and her family are very welcoming, creating a lasting memory of Irish hospitality.
There were 4 of us women on a B&B girls' trip to Ireland. We chose Coolmore Agri Farmhouse, because it looked like it was in the countryside, and stayed here for 2 nights. Mavis and her husband were the perfect hosts, and their lovely home had bucolic views of the countryside, which also included a horse, and a working dairy farm! Mavis was such a warm hostess, and gave us valuable pointers on sites to visit in the area, including where to eat in Knocktopher! We loved our stay here!
Mavis the host, made us feel welcome and happy from the moment we arrivied. She took our breakfast order and had it waiting for us when we came down in the morning. Her son even took our teen's on a walk of the farm. The rooms were clean and well appointed. I highly recommend.
Mavis and Eamonn were two of the nicest people I came to meet over my stay in Ireland. They were excellent hosts, they showed us the farm and were happy to explain about local history and activities. The food was abundant and was absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this BnB to anyone, it was a truly wonderful experience
We wanted an Irish farmhouse experience and this b & b did not disappoint. Convenient location for Waterford and Kilkenney and close to Jerpoint Abbey which should not be missed. Hosts were friendly and welcoming (this is their home) and full Irish breakfast great but Mavis's porridge was the best. An occasional cow moo was heard in the morning and added to our experience. Would love to go back someday.
We stayed for two nights whilst driving around Ireland. Mavis was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome in her beautiful home. We enjoyed getting to know her family, who were also very friendly and welcoming. And of course we enjoyed meeting all of the animals! Mavis also gave us lots of advice on local attractions and activities. The breakfast was great with lots of options. Wifi internet connection was also great. Our room was lovely with views over the back paddock. I could wake up each morning and look out our window to watch the cows walking in to be milked. We enjoyed getting involved with some farm duties too, such as collecting eggs and feeding the calves. We had been looking to stay somewhere that would give us time in the countryside as well as a real farm experience and this place was perfect for us. Over all we had a fantastic experience at Coolmore and would highly recommend this B&B.…
We stayed three nights and enjoyed the warm welcome at a working farmhouse. You can do day trips to Kilkenny, Waterford and Hook Head and then return to have a nice evening after the excitements of the day. The rooms are pretty and clean, the breakfast delicious and you can ask for anything. This is a great place for kids: we got a tour around the farm and watched cattles of all ages, chickens, ducks, and the two lovely dogs liked to be cuddled all the time. We even got the opportunity to pet a foal with its mother and at the last evening our hosts invited us to a dinner! Thank you folks for those awesome days!
I was traveling with my 2 teenage sons and we stayed 2 nights. After we returned for our second night I noticed that the beds hadn't been remade, nor towels changed, nor tea cups cleaned. All of this had been attended to at the other B & B's we had stayed at. We were given only 2 large bath towels and a smaller towel. On the upside-the internet worked great (a plus when traveling with teens!) and breakfast was great.
