If the hotel and service are awesome, why the 2-star review? For principle, I refuse to give any Holiday Inn Express more than two stars when they don't serve cinnamon rolls. The breakfast is garbage otherwise and it's inexcusable to have an empty warmer below a sign that says "This is how we roll," with no rolls.
Overall a modern clean hotel with a pool 10 ft by 30 ft, an included breakfast, large parking lot very close to the highway. There's a supermarket next door which is very convenient The rooms are fine with refrigerator and microwave with typically funky IHG hotel styling.
We checked in on Thursday evening, when returning from dinner and looking forward to a glass of wine in our room, we were told, there was no wine bottle opener. We discovered a little while later (while in our PJ’s) , that we had no toilet paper and called downstairs only to be told, there was no one available to get it for us and we need to come to the front desk to pick it up ourselves. The next morning some of our colleagues asked for a late check out, but were told they couldn’t make that decision until the day shift came on, Unfortunately we had to leave before that happened. We spent all morning in the heat and humidity working, when we returned around 2.30pm we asked the front desk for towels so we could shower. We were then informed VERY RUDELY that no towels were available and wouldn’t be for another 2 hours. After spending all morning in that brutal heat all we wanted was to clean up. We have a dinner reservation and it’s now 4pm and still no towels. How is that even possible? I travel for a living and in 27 years I never heard of a hotel not having clean towels. UNACCEPTABLE…
We spent three nights here for pleasure. The room was clean and quiet. In three days we never had housekeeping of any kind. We asked for clean towels but were told there were none available. There were signs up everywhere but they were confusing. One said long term guests receive housekeeping twice weekly. We did not think a three night stay was long term. We think they just want to save money by not paying housekeepers. The same with breakfast. The entire setup was awkward. You had to know what to ask for because breakfast items were not displayed. Then on weekdays there is no hot breakfast, just a grab and go. If it is safe to serve hot breakfast on weekends, why isn’t it safe on weekdays, too? I think it is just cost saving, not actually due to COVID. The front desk clerk who checked us in and out was not very friendly or helpful. She was not in uniform, but in a tshirt. We were underwhelmed with this hotel and actually checked out to move to another HIE nearby.…
Wow! This was by far one of the nicest Holiday Inn’s I have stayed at. The bed was soooo comfy. The room was spotless! Lots of precautions taken due to the pandemic. I was in town for my grandmother’s funeral and having a nice place to rest was a breath of fresh air during a very sad time. I would absolutely stay here again!
