We booked this trip in October, 2022 for arrival in January 2023 for a much needed girls getaway. None of us had been to Myrtle Beach and were excited to try a new place. Marriott did not disappoint! We stayed in room 2055 and it had a gorgeous view. Shoutout to Angela who I had spoken to on the phone before arriving. Bless her heart for noting all our wants and our January 2023 arrival was perfect. She had all the details of our stay just perfect! Nick in the pool bar mixed our drinks perfectly. Buy your groceries on Instacart and they can be delivered straight to your room if you want to eat in. However, you must try the seafood boil if the hotel offers it. We ordered it on our last night there and it was perfectly cooked and just the right amount. Such a grand time and we will be back! If you are wanting to be within walking distance to the boardwalk this is not your hotel. But if you want seclusion and relaxation this is it!…
My family and I recently stayed at the Marriott Oceanwatch Villas and upon arriving were immediately impressed with the customer service and accommodations the Oceanwatch staff showed. We had made a request with the room selection associate a month prior to our stay and told it wouldn’t be a problem. Upon arriving, our initial expectations were not me. However, associate Naandi and manager Marvin were more than helpful. In fact, they both went well above and beyond to make sure our request was handled and taken care of. This level of detail and care is not typical of many of the stays I have had at Marriott properties. Shoutout to them and hope the Oceanwatch staff recognizes there efforts in exceeding the typical level of customer service required, while also accommodating a very tired family after a 10 hour drive. Overall, this was our third stay at the property, and we were still very impressed with the amount of activities offered for kids, the overall aesthetics of the property grounds are the best in MB, and the setup from the various pools (and their targeted audiences) is excellent. The rooms looked to be recently renovated and were very clean and had great kitchenware and appliances. The only downfall is the overpriced drinks at the bar which seemed to be rushed. If Marriott can work to better align the bar service and value with the rest of the resort, this property would be even more popular than it already is. Looking forward to my next stay!…
Google travel rates this as a 4 star hotel/resort. I rate them 5 stars on being a 4 star resort. Had an ocean view room that was perfect. Front desk staff was excellent and this place has all the amenities you could ask for including food onsite. It's location is tucked away so it is quiet day and evening other than kids playing in the pool. Direct access to a nice beach. This property is a few miles north of the boardwalk in a private location. but close to tons of restaurants and grocery. This property is secluded so it's not like most hotels that are stacked on top of one another.
We've been to Marriort Oceanwatch a couple of times in Mrytle Beach. I'm writing this review because the one person in charge of the rooms, Ms. Nita V., really helped us get into the room we wanted and she went out of her way to help. I cannot thank you enough for having a wonderful Christmas. This is the best gift we have ever received for the holiday season. I already booked another week for March 2022. Nita - Thank you.
Beautiful resort!!! So great for family! My family of four (including twin toddlers) had the best time here over a rainy thanksgiving week. We all had such a nice time! The pools are heated, outdoor and indoor! There are activities for the kids! The two bedroom villas on higher floors (floor six and up if you can!) have immaculate views! The activity center is great for kids too! I personally enjoyed watching football on the multiple outdoor TVs the most! GO CHIEFS!
Let's start with the positives. This is a beautiful, extremely clean resort. Most of the employees out and about were friendly and helpful. The villas are spacious and nicely furnished. The pools were nice and the treehouse for the kids was remarkable. However, no matter how nice a resort is, your first impression is always the front desk, and for me, this was a very poor first impression. I would NOT recommend going to this resort -only due to customer service! There is NONE! We rented from an owner who called in to make a request for us to have a room that was high up and great view away from noise (as we have 3 little kids who still nap). They received our request...but essentially, don't care. Instead, of being high up and away from noise, we are on the first floor, right next to the pool bar and can barely see the ocean from our room due to the sand dunes. I have requested a different room multiple times (including when we first checked in and they told me where the room was), and because we aren't an owner - they don't care. The excuse is "we are at capacity. Requests are just that...requests. We are not obligated to meet them." I have stayed at multiple myrtle beach resorts and have never been treated like I have here. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. The owner we rented from is extremely unhappy and called to complain on our behalf as well. Ocean front does not mean me staring at sand dunes and trying to get kids to nap with the sound of blaring music by the pool bar. Just beware...your requests likely won't be acknowledged even slightly.…
First all the positives go to the resort itself. Fast easy check-in, clean room, courteous service, immaculate grounds. This resort is one of the best. We own a week there and are rarely disappointed. I could go over everything they did right, but they did everything right. Only point of issue has little to nothing to do with the actual resort. It was the guests. Well certain guests who had no social etiquette. When laying by the pool, it is rude to bring a Bluetooth speaker and blast your music selection for all to endure. By some headphones or earbuds. One man carried a speaker hanging from a back pack all around the resort, music blasting everywhere he went. Another group nearby had their music blasting. The resort has music playing on their speakers. Try to relax when you are in earshot of five different songs playing loudly at the same time. It’s rude of you to think that if you turn your up loud enough to drown out what you don’t want to hear, we, the rest of us, are subjected to ALL the music. I finally complained when a family blasting music and singing loudly right next to our lounge chairs turned it up when we politely requested a reprieve. Then I was accused of being racist because it was a Latino family. No…it’s not the type of music. It’s the multiple loud sources of music. My grandson has a condition and was constantly triggered but the cacophony of music. Be responsible and play your own music for just you. And, I only gave 4 stars because honestly, the resort management is aware and on our trip we spoke to multiple people complaining about this and nothing is done.…
We traded our 2020 Marriott Arizona timeshare for this one. After a long 9 hour drive, we arrived around 7pm. We requested 2 of the 3 oceanfront towers. We were not happy to get the Pine building, one of the 3 Woodsy Villa towers. The front desk clerks told us we would be happy because it was a 9th floor corner room. Nothing more they could do. So we drove there and parked right in front of the building. That's a plus. Grabbed a cart and unloaded our stuff. Walked into the villa and, honestly, we were blown away by the space and the view. Great view of the woods, and the ocean. We had a large foyer with a side table. the 2nd bedroom and the washer and dryer were there. then you walked past the kitchen. The main bedroom was off the living room. Large balcony. It was very private. Our son, daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren were joining us the next day. We went food shopping and then collapsed in the very comfy bed. The blackout shades actually worked. The only downside was the "open" bathroom. The toilet and shower were behind a door but the double sinks were exposed so, if you were an early riser, you would wake your sleeping partner when you turned on the vanity light. The villa itself was very comfortable. Everything worked. Now for the reason we would stay in the woodsy villa again. After our family arrived, we went to the beach. We dragged all of our stuff. It was maybe a 6-8 minute walk. After the beach, there were plenty of cubbies to store our beach stuff so we didn't have to drag it back and forth. The kids wanted to go in the pool. There are 2 pools in front of the oceanfront towers. They were mobbed. We saw this every time we came back from the beach. So we walked back to the woodsy villa pool. It's very large. Not crowded. Long curvy water slide. No problem getting chairs and we were there every day after the beach. It was quiet except for one afternoon when they had a DJ playing very loud music. Way too loud. There's also a quiet pool nearby but we didn't use it. We never had a problem parking. We had to use the woodsy garage one evening but could park in the lot in front of the building every other time. The location of this property is perfect. Food stores and lots of restaurants close by. We were very happy that we lucked out getting the "Pine" villa.…
We always have a wonderful time here. Clean, friendly staff, and all the amenities you could ask for. It’s convenient to the airport and other Myrtle activities and restaurants. I thought they put out too many umbrellas and chairs which crowded the beach but otherwise we had a great family trip.
We stayed at 2 bedroom villa at Marriott's Oceanwatch villas. The condo was very nice. The living room was big and nicely furnished. The master bedroom was great and the second bedroom had 2 queen size beds. The villa was very clean and all the furnishing was modern and comfortable. The kitchen was also big enough to cook for the family. The location of the property is a short walk to the grocery stores and to the restaurants. The resort has several pools. There are several buildings and even if you stay in one of the buildings that are not oceanfront, the walk to the beach is very quick the resorts provide a shuttle service. The only downside was, that all the pools were very crowded and people leave their towels on the beach chairs to save it even though they do not use them.
