Attending a wedding in Lancaster, SC, I spent two nights at this lovely B&B. This inn provided a European feel in the South. It's story, charm, attention to detail, fine furnishings and appointments are exquisite! Johannes Tromp, Inkeeper, in the true sense of the word provides exemplary service and is attentive to making one's stay a truly satisfying and relaxing...

I was in Lancaster on a business trip, and I was pleasantly surprised by my accommodations. I had never stayed in a B&B, but Kilburnie has everything you would expect from a "5-star" inn. Johannes, the innkeeper, was attentive, gracious, and kind, not only with his time, but with his culinary skills, his love and vast knowledge of history, and...

Decided to spend one night here with my mom as part of our mother-daughter weekend and we had a blast! This was my mom's first stay at a B&B and she loved it! Johannes was the most magnificent host! He gave wonderful tours of both the inn and his house. He had such amazing visions that he has brought to...

From the moment Johannes greeted us until we checked out we were treated like royalty. One of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. Breakfasts were out of this world. Amenities were next to none. I highly recommend this as one of those hidden gems that will leave you happy and invigorated. Don't leave without getting a historical tour...

We stayed at Kilburnie on a Friday and Saturday night in early April 2015. We met cousins there for a relaxing weekend. I had read about the interesting background of this old B & B and the farm. I had seen the pictures of the old house that had sat empty for 40 years in the nearby town of Lancaster...

Only stayed one night but thoroughly enjoyed it. Great history here and some incredible antiques. As has been mentioned in their reviews, the breakfast was over the top. Although invited, I didn't have time to visit the owners home across the highway but I've been told it is a treasure as well.

My husband and I stayed at Kilburnie while in Lancaster, SC for a wedding. The attention to detail, comfortable and tasteful environment, the tranquility inside and out provided a welcome and thoroughly enjoyable respite. Breakfast was wonderful, the hydrotherapy tub was luxurious and reading in bed with the fireplace roaring was incredible. The restoration of the B&B and the main...

I can't even put to words the wonderful experience of staying at Kilburnie. From the time you arrive to the time you leave, you are treated the way you would treat a guest in your own home. My wife and I have stayed there several times, and look forward to returning soon.

My husband and I stayed there on Thanksgiving. The place was beautiful, clean and quiet. We had a late checkin and he was waiting for us with a huge smile on his face. Made to feel very welcomed. We hope to return so we can hike and explore the property. The owners graciously took us on a tour of the...
