My family had a really great time. We stayed at The Sanctuary, a rather expensive hotel, but you get what you pay for. Better to stay here a few days rather than a longer time somewhere else. The rooms get serviced twice a day. Everything is of high quality, from the towels to the furniture. The hotel lobby is beautiful....

My two friends and I have been traveling together now for more than 20 years. We are firm believers in first class travel whenever possible. Someone casually remarked that after touring Charleston she had driven over to Kiawah island and discovered the Kiawah Island Golf Resort and thought it was beautiful. After researching it, it looked like the perfect place...

We just returned from my family's 4th visit to Kiawah. We loved it when we were child-free and we love it more with our 16 and 8 year old. We rented a villa from the resort (reviewed in the villas section) for less than a week so it was pretty pricey this time. The beach is super wide, you can...

Kiawah is our family's #1 beach resort. The beach is incredibly wide with a gradual slope. This means no undertow, which is perfect for families with smaller children. Also, the beach is fantastic for riding bikes, which are easily rented. It is possible to ride for miles--literally--on the beach. The entire resort is payed out with a network of bike...

FIVE STARS! You will absolutely love this resort. The oceanfront view rooms are the best. It is as if you have a private beach all to yourself. In-room dining can make it a serene experience for one or a romantic evening for two. This visit to Kiawah Island is a first visit for me, but I will be back! It...

We rented a 3 bedroom villa for our family for the last week of July. The cottage was perfect for ourselves, 3 year old twins and 5 year old. It was very well appointed and allowed us to cook meals in with food picked up at the fabulous Fresh Fields store within minutes of the house (easier than dining out...

This was our first time to The Sanctuary. It met all of our expectations. It was clean, friendly staff, very accomodating to our 2 boys and just a great place to relax. We are not golfers so we didn't get to experience the courses. We didn enjoy riding our bikes on the beach, diving in the waves and relaxing by the...

The Sanctuary and Kiawah Island are two very well kept secrets in the USA. The Sanctuary is a top rated and top performing hotel in the South...and Kiawah Island is so beautifully kept and clean..what a delight to be in nature and at the same time in luxury..not a bad thing to say about our 7 night trip.

The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island is excellent. It is not inexpensive (but then few great, luxury resorts are), but the property is beautifully maintained, the rooms are spacious and comfortable with beautiful views, and the service is exceptional. I had my first visit back in 2008 with a group of 8 girlfriends celebrating a 40th Birthday. I returned this June...
