Mansfield is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. I could have spent our entire 4 days there laying in a hammock watching herrons fly over and fish jump from the water. It is set just a couple of miles outside of downtown Georgetown. A perfect getaway. The service was impecable. There were even a couple of really wonderful fluffy puppies on the...

The mile and three quarter drive from the main road to the plantation gave us no clue as to the beauty we were about to experience. At the end of the road was the plantation house surrounded by a large expanse of green lawn. We parked under the big oak trees and rang the door bell. We were welcomed by...

Thank you for your review and sharing such kind words on TripAdvisor. The bicycles and fire pit are always a hit with guests.

The small sign where we turned off the main road gave us no clue about the spectacular driveway that leads to this plantation. We drove along a rutted road for about a mile and a half before we came to the main gateway. Then we just stopped as the view with all the spanish moss arching over the road was...

Wow wow wow. This was our last night on a mini road trip down the Outer Banks and it was the best of all our nights. The drive up is impressive, if a little pot holed. We arrived about 3pm and the note explained the innkeeper was running errands. We dropped our bags - Woodward Room which was lovely -...

The Mansfield Plantation was the 3rd stop along our coastline Rd trip starting with The Spencer House in St. Mary, Ga, then to the Brunswick Manor, in Brunswick, Ga. We stayed two nights on the plantation. The guest cottages were absolutely beautiful, well appointed, private, and peaceful. The cottages are surrounded by the Black River and remnants of the original...

We stayed one night on our way to Florida. We stayed in Izard which is in a separate building from the main building. When we arrived there was a note on the main door saying Katherine was out but that we could go to our room. The bedroom was charming. The bathroom was small but not unexpected given the origin...

We stayed here three nights in August in the Man room. This is a lovely, interesting place to stay, very quiet and peaceful. There are no signs and few employees, but just pull up to the building that the driveway is pointing you to and Katherine should find you. The whole time we were here we kept thinking about what...

We loved Mansfield Plantation. The room was lovely. The grounds made you think you were living the old South. Katherine was very nice. History was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed several restaurants in Georgetown. Visited Brookgreen Gardens, which was a short distance away. Also went to Murrell's Inlet and looked around and had a drink. My husband and I...

If you are looking for a nice quiet stay in Georgetown, this is about as good as it gets. And if you want seclusion, the plantation sits back in the woods (down a dirt road) about 1.75 miles from Highway 701. Their web site is very descriptive; this is not Tara, but a rather modest plantation building surrounded by magnificent...

We enjoyed the drive through old oaks and tall pines, the brick guest houses and the wide grass fields with swing benches looking over the river. Kathy is a wonderful host and lays out a good southern breakfast.
