Hotel prices in Charleston are high, and even though this was mid-range price wise in Charleston, it felt overpriced. The rooms are very old-fashioned but in a quaint way, however they were a bit dark and gloomy. Bathroom was fine, good water pressure and clean, and beds were comfy. Breakfast was pretty terrible. Poor quality and selection of food. Plates,...

Pros: Ideal location, Walking distance to most everything. Very clean. Great water pressure in shower. Nice people. Housekeeping staff wonderful. Cons: Rooms on the shabby side and very dark. The breakfast buffet was a huge disappointment; dry cereal, mushy grapes, no other fresh fruit. Not even bananas, except on Sunday. The bagels and muffins looked like Costco brand, in fact...

This hotel is right downtown Charleston. We had an upstairs, second floor room. We took the stairs every time as it was quicker, but there is an elevator. The hotel is so "southern" feeling! With the side courtyard especially. Happy hour was very nice with wine and cheese and crackers every evening at 5pm. Staff were helpful. Breakfasts were good....

With it's central location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and lounge areas, this is a really good base to explore historic Charleston. We enjoyed a quirky room with a four poster-bed, the "happy-hour" with wine, cheese and crab-dip - which is daily between 5pm & 6pm - and the general location of this hotel being close to the market....

The location of this hotel was excellent. Centrally located and easy to walk pretty much everywhere. Comfortable bed. That's about it. Dirty, old, tired lobby --- carpet & sofas especially. Carpet in room was bad; wear socks or flip flops don't go bare feet. Housekeeping kept forgetting to leave fresh bath towels each day; had to call and wait before...

This was our second time back to this inn. Comparing our initial trip to this one, there were some changes that were highly noticeable. Pros: Excellent location close to the market and downtown historical Charleston; comfortable beds and well maintained air conditioned rooms; This building is amongst the documented haunted inns in the city, but no spirit sitings either visit;...

Thank you for your review and for staying with us for a second time. We are sorry you were disappointed in the breakfast & evening refreshment food choices. We do still serve the cinnamon rolls but we do rotate the hot breakfast items daily so there is some variety for guests who stay multiple nights. And just to clarify: we...

Excellent location and large rooms, but as one other reviewer said it is a little tired. On two occassions I had to go and ask staff to let me into my room and my collegue to help me get out (the door to my room was tricky). The rooms are laid out in a motor inn format with long open...

We were very pleased with our accommodations at the Meeting Street Inn. The room was comfortable, pretty, and unusually spacious for an older hotel. The bathroom was large and modern and housekeeping provided plenty of fresh towels, toiletries, etc. daily. The room was furnished with an armoire, TV, desk, two large arm chairs and a small refrigerator. The location was...

An baffled how this place gets more than one star. Unless, of course, you chose to shack up in a 1880 boarding house. The filth at every level defies description. I suppose there is a level of quaintness which harkens back to Civil War days but the charm eludes me. If you want to experience 1880 road house accommodations then...

I am sure in the day that this was a great place. There are some good things about this place, but unfortunately it does not command a great presentation. When entering to check in, the carpet was rolled/rippled at the front door, the cushions on sofas were worn, tattered and just need updating. There was paint peeling from the ceiling....
