The history and the fabric of Charleston are exemplified in the casual attention to detail at the Battery Carriage House Inn. What began as an impulsive overnight trip concluded as the paradigm example of what a visit to Charleston should be. With an accommodating staff and excellent customer care, the Carriage House Inn blends southern charm with indelible familiarity. There...

Great location for walking and sightseeing. The rooms are well appointed. The staff was pleasant. We were able to walk all around the battery and historic district. We plan on staying there again during the spring of 2017.

I took my mother here for her birthday at the end of October 2015. We have always been pretty enamored (obsessed) with plantation-era, Southern architecture and we are American history buffs, so 8 days between Charleston and Savannah seemed like a no-brained. My mother lives in a very haunted renovated farmhouse on the coast of Maine that was an Inn...

We booked the Battery Carriage House based on reviews but we were highly disappointed. The inn is located in a quieter part of town across from white point gardens - or so we thought. We stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday night and were awoken by noise from the large construction project next door. Check in was smooth and the...

The Battery Carriage House is absolutely beautiful and rich in history. We stayed in room 10- one of the rooms which is supposedly haunted. Delightfully creepy but sadly no ghost seen by us on our one night visit. No matter, I would definitely stay again !

We chose this B & B over others because their web site promised breakfast brought to you on a silver tray. That sounded like a fun extra. When we got there, we were informed about breakfast in the lobby. Turns out they had changed their breakfast, but their web site was out of date when we looked at it. Breakfast...

My daughter and I happened upon this place- we didn't look it up online- just walked in because the entryway was beautiful and welcoming. The desk help was incredible. We stayed on the ground level. The room was historical, beautiful, and just perfect for us. The hotel, its location, and staff were definite high points in our vacation.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a couple of nights and were drawn to the property because of the possible paranormal activity, although we did not stay in one of the two haunted rooms. The rooms were adorable, the bathroom was a perfect size and although the place had the charm of a building that has been standing for...

First the positives: 1. Friendly, helpful staff. 2. Beautiful house 3. Historic, quiet location 4. Clean rooms And the negatives: 1. I was originally booked in one of the lower level rooms in the main house. Because of water damage, I was moved to the carriage house (with a reduction in price). 2. For the price, the carriage house rooms...

After a lovely stay at this inn, I am really scratching my head about why there are any poor reviews of it. We were a little skeptical going in after reading some of the less flattering reviews, but we love that area of Charleston and decided to give it a try. We could not have been more pleased with our...
