Located on a former plantation now run by a historic preservation group, the Inn at Middleton is not a serious hotel operation. The skeletal staff is poorly trained, maintenance issues abound, and there is no security anywhere in sight despite the isolated location. And the beds are too small. Middleton may be perfect for retreats, field trips, and the like,...

I went to Middleton to experience something different than downtown Charleston. I am so happy that I did. I discovered more than just a historical plantation setting. The Inn at Middleton is no farther or longer a drive than many places you might stay around the area. The Inn itself has spacious rooms in a spectacular setting on the Ashley...

This was just a great place to visit. It was quiet, beautiful and scenic in a way that is its own. We toured the fantastic gardens, kayaked down the Ashley River and drove to Charleston and experienced the excitement of a great tourist city. Our room was large yet rustic. It was very clean and had an excellent view of...

Nestled in the trees on the peaceful river - a place to relax and hear the birds sing. This setting is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. The tour of the planation home and stable yards was excellent and was included with the room. We definitely plan to return for another visit.

We literally stumbled upon the Inn at MIddleton Place. What an absolutely charming facility. The adjacent gardens were lovely. Our garden docent was very knowledgeable about the history of the garden. Very interesting to know it is one of the oldest documented gardens in the US. The restaurant was great!

Arrived at reception building to be told my room was not ready - I had to change for a wedding taking place on the plantation. Suddenly my room was ready. When making the reservation I was told I would have a first floor room - after I drove to the building and was carrying everything I discovered I was on...

This inn is located on a lovely piece of property with a strong history. It was peaceful and the staff was quite pleasant. Unfortunately the ambience is overshadowed by the lack of care given to the accommodations and public rooms. It also seems that that the front desk is inadequately manned. I had placed 4 phone calls there prior to...

Ok this was a tough one. The location is excuisit. It's Romantic and historical set by the Ashley river. But the Inn, we'll let's say this place has potential. The Inn, the rooms are dated and worn. Floors Tiles bathrooms all need an update, they are from the 70s. The TV was set 25 Ft from bed and it was...

Well, this will be a hard one for us to respond to as well! It is a unfortunate case of you say tomato, I say tomato. The Inn was built in 1985, and all bathroom fixtures have been updated, shower heads raised to the highest we can bring them within the ceiling. The TV is 15 feet from the headboard...
