So my husband surprised me for a Valentines weekend getaway to Charleston and we stayed here because we thought we might bring our dog but we didn’t so in hind sight we would’ve stayed somewhere nicer. We arrived and walked in to a worker laying down in the lobby with no mask taking a nap. The lobby was filled with people and only 20% had masks on. It was a kids hockey tournament weekend and there were a lot of kids (no biggy until...). We went to our room and anytime were were in our room all you could hear was kids running and screaming down the hall. All hours of the day and night. I called the front desk, it stopped for about 30 minutes. Our shower door wouldn’t close so we took pretty cold showers. I called customer care 3x and was offer a small amount of points in compensation. I didn’t use points to pay for the room so it’s unfair to offer a fraction of the points it would even take to stay at this hotel. The room had mold. The only bright light is the breakfast was great and the servers in the restaurant were amazing. I have NEVER been so disappointed in a hotel in my life (and I’m an avid traveler). The website says they take precautions for Covid, masks required etc. that is a bold face LIE. Even the girl behind the counter had her mask under her chin. Stay away and tell your friends to also!

Thank you for choosing to stay at our property. We do appreciate your feedback. We do take the pandemic seriously and ensure that our front desk staff and staff around the hotel do have on masks and gloves as they deal with guests at the property. Unfortunately, this is the first that we are hearing of most of your issues and wish to have been aware so that we could properly address at the property level. Hopefully you choose us again and we can make your experience a positive one. Have a wonderful year and stay safe.

To be fair and objective, I found the hotel and the cleanliness very professional, location is excellent, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable however, my fiancee and I had a very distasteful experience with the staff, our dogs, and the way they treated us over the phone. I am a disabled veteran, living off my disability during these Covid times. We decided to go visit family for the holidays and as such decided to drive up north from Florida. We have with us two service dogs, trained and certified. We called the facility ahead of time to ask for their policy on dogs and to et them know we have them. They informed us that as long as we had the paperwork we were going to be fine and that no charges were going to be added additionally. We arrived at the hotel, everything went excellent and we truly enjoyed our stay however, two days later we got a charge for 100 dollars extra from what we had agreed upon. I called the facility and the lady that answered mention that it was a charge for "shampooing the room" (note that we were there one night and our dogs do not leave mess in rooms as they always warn us when they have to go outside), we asked for evidence of any damages, they didn't provide us one, and lastly, we were told we wold get a call from management staff to speak about the issue and after a week, no call has been made. "Under the ADA (American with Disabilities Act.) laws, the hotel cannot charge an extra fee for the service animal as they would another client with a pet. This also means you and your dog will be allowed in the public areas of the hotel, as well as having the right to a floor and room that are not normally designated for people traveling with pets." Even thou the issue is just for 100 dollars, the principle stands and I believe this hotel and some of the staff follow unethical, borderline illegal practices of misleading people or at least in my case but based on other reviews Iv'e read in this website, it seems its a common practice. I have reported the event to the ADA and followed up the VA in Florida in order to prevent this from happening to other disabled veterans. So my advice to others with service dogs: don't stay here, other than that, its a nice hotel.

Welcomed at check-in as IHG Rewards members. Stayed two nights utilizing credit card Anniversary night awards. A room upgrade was not available, but the provided room was well appointed. The room was clean and appeared sanitized. One of two annoying issues was that the 'system' to program the entry 'cards' for many of the rooms was down. This required that every time we left, we had to wait for someone to let us back into the room. Over a two day period this was a bit much. The other, which is referenced in a number of feedbacks, the air conditioning for each room, evidently has some type of 'timer' that shuts the unit off after running for a certain period of time. An example of the effect; going to bed at night with a comfortable room temperature but waking up later with the room 4 - 5 degrees hotter. Then having to get up to reset the unit to bring to temperature down to a comfortable level. One night this happened twice, the other once. On the plus side, all staff were welcoming, the valets were excellent. Walking distance to many great restaurants.
