As always, the FQ Inn was fantastic. We always stay here when visiting Charleston. The location is perfect, the service outstanding and the accommodations lovely, particularly the terrace rooms! Highly recommend!
We booked this hotel based on reviews. We assumed it would be very nice , but also thought that it would be different due to covid. We were wrong. This place is as beautiful as all the reviews stated. The staff is levels above other hotels on all counts. They are ultra professional and sincerely friendly. The first impression from the greeting of the valet gentlemen, through the front desk people is top notch. We got there way to early to be checked in, but they brought our luggage in, recommended a nearby restaurant for lunch, and arranged for a driver to get us to our dinner reservation. This was all before we even officially checked in. The deluxe corner terrace king room was gorgeous. Very comfortable and sparkling clean. We were very comfortable with the safety protocol they were following from masks to elevator policy, and how immaculate everything appeared. We assumed there would be a major cutback of amenities. They had to adapt the amenities and they did it wonderfully. They still had options for breakfast in your room, lobby, or outside terrace. Everything was wrapped and packaged to a great level of protection. The bathroom amenities were all high end and nicely presented. The shower is awesome. This hotel deserves every award and good review it has earned. The staff at all levels is fantastic. We won’t need reviews on our next trip to Charleston. We will call the French Quarter Inn. We hated having to go home. You will too.…
We've been visiting Charleston since 1986. We've stayed at many of the historic district hotels over the years but now stay exclusively at the French Quarter Inn. Fantastic hotel and feels like home, Since Covid restrictions are in place we expected changes but everything was nearly as always. Masks are required in all areas of the hotel except your room of course. Only one couple, person or family in the elevator at a time. Charleston requires masks outside as well. We checked in and valet parked our car. So convenient. We had a nice glass of champagne at check in and our room was ready We stayed in a corner terrace king room. Very spacious and the terrace gave us a view of the city. There was a table and chairs to eat outside and an umbrella for sun. It was Feb so it was 65 and sunny but no need for umbrella. The bedding was so comfortable and everything was spotless. Happy hour was great. Individually wrapped Charcuterie plates. Waiters brought your wine and it was very good. You could purchase mixed drinks if you wanted. Breakfast was room service and we had mixed pastries, fruit and yogurt, OJ and coffee. Delicious. If you wanted breakfast in the lobby it was a boxed offering. There is 24 hr a day tea, coffee, iced tea and flavored water in the lobby area. The staff was wonderful and couldn't do enough to assist anyone with their individual needs. We will be back!…
We just returned from our weekend getaway here. Every fantastic review you read is absolutely true and more! They have altered things like happy hour due to Covid perfectly. We also felt incredibly safe with their cleaning protocols. The service is top notch, every single person we encountered was amazing, helpful and kind. The location is perfect as well. Walking distance to everything. Our only issue which is of no fault of anyone’s was that we paid extra to have the beautiful terrace off our room and it literally rained every single minute we were there for 48 hours, so that kind of stunk but not their fault. We will definitely be back, it’s worth it!
I can only echo all the other rave reviews. This was an anniversary splurge for us and well worth it. From the moment we checked in we were spoiled but with genuine warmth. We were presented glasses of champagne at check in and a bottle on ice was in our room. The desk personnel are eager to please whether it’s with getting dinner reservations, printing our boarding passes, or arranging a car to the airport. The hotel is tastefully beautiful, but not ostentatious. Coffee is available 24/7 near the front desk in a little reception area. Charcuterie plates and wine are complementary every evening from 5:30-6:00. Cookies and port wine later in the evening. Bottled water is included. Just ask at the desk when you need some. Our room was delightful. The bathroom was large especially the shower. The water was hot and the bed was extremely comfortable. We didn’t have to ask for extra pillows. They were already on the bed. Bicycles are free to use, but since it rained the whole three days we made better use of the free umbrellas. It’s located near everything you really want to see and do. We walked all day but took cabs or ride shares at night. Be forewarned: Ubers are scarce and Lyfts are rare since the feds are paying them to stay home. We were made to feel so welcome that we only left because we had to. …
