I could have spent the night in the woods but stayed here instead. After reading the other reviews I think maybe I just got the "bad" room. The linens and towels were clean and the room seemed (except for the mildew smell) clean until I broke out the flashlight. There were cobwebs and spiderwebs in every corner and a dead...

I stopped in here at the last minute and got a reasonably priced room that was clean. The decor is a bit older but it had a kitchenette, wifi on the front porch and nice big flat screen tvs with cable. Paula was an excellent hostess, told me about the kayaking trips the next morning (which I went on) and...

Booked a room here at last minute while visiting family in West Hickory. Place is well cared for, clean but old. We had a rough night sleeping because the beds were hard, but could not beat how clean the place was. I would stay there again. There are not any places to get breakfast close by, but the little gas...

Paula, the owner/operator is a great hostess. She and her staff work tirelessly to take care of all of their guests. The room was cleaner than most 'big' hotel chains I have stayed in. Beds were clean, big and comfortable with my choice of firm or squishy pillows. I slept like a rock...an Eagle Rock that is, lol. It had...

The motel is on the alleghany river which allowed us to walk our dogs. the facilities are dated but clean. The staff was courteous. it is not fancy like a wyndham but it was clean and quiet. there was...

I needed a room for a quick visit and my "go to" place was full. I found this little gem on Trip Advisor It is basic, clean, well maintained 1950s motel with knotty pine paneling in the rooms. There is a coffee maker, microwave and small refrigerator but you will need your own coffee---- none of those "coffee pillows". It...

They were very helpful with canoe rental and gave us tips about the river and how to find prime camping spots. We did a four day three night trip. On the last day our daughter became a Heat Casualty due to dehydration and had to be evacuated off the river. They gave my wife and daughter a hotel room at...

We had 2 rooms. Both were clean and cool. They have fair prices, great views, and amazing staff. They were always friendly and helpful. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is everything I could ask for. Great for family trips.

This motel is perfect if you want to canoe or kayak. You rent from them and they shuttle bus you to your starting point on the Allegany River. If you stay 3 or more nights the owner even offers a discount. The room smelled very clean and looked very clean. The sheets were very soft and clean. Updated tv...yes a...

very clean room. attention to small details did not go unnoticed. even the chrome in the bathroom shined!! we normally stay in large chains, and were a little leery of this small motel, but very pleasantly surprised. give them a chance. you will not be disappointed!! no amenities, but cleanliness and value make it a gem.
