Although this hotel has a great location and convenient parking, the hotel is a little dated. I stayed during Parents and Family weekend and the rates are too high for this caliber of a hotel. They should provide continental breakfast , if the rate is $299 per night.

This place was not here back in '85 when I graduated. Right near Cafe 210 West, which definitely was there when I graduated! Took my youngest up for a campus visit and to see the real life WWE road show. Clean rooms, MUCH cheaper then when they hose you in football season!

Needed to fins a hotel for the weekend because of early morning swim sessions. The Atherton is in a perfect location for everything you want to do during your free time in State College. It is within walking distance of everything downtown and most events on campus.

The Atherton Hotel is a very comfortable place to stay. The hotel has a vintage decor. The hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant. The rooms was clean and bed was so comfortable. These are important elements for me to enjoy my stay. The Atherton met my expectations.

Very professional staff, perfect location, just steps to College Avenue, room was nice, clean and comfortable. Convenient parking under the hotel, though the spaces were kind of narrow so be careful. The price was reasonable because I was there at an off time, mid May when there isn't much action in State College, I stayed during my son's freshmen orientation.

Recently stayed at the Atherton on a Thursday night. Penn States two hotels were priced like midtown New York. The Atherton was a much better deal. It is a very short walk to the west end of campus including the Hintz Alumni Center and Rec Hall. Also just steps to Zola, the best restaurant in town. The staff is friendly,...

I stayed at the Atherton Hotel for a business trip and it was lovely. The staff was so kind and helpful. The had fresh cookies at the front desk to greet their guests and were very approachable. My room was beautiful and spotless. I also had the breakfast in the restaurant "Rumors" and it was delicious!
