...is outside your door in the morning, a refreshing change from the faceless USA Today of chain hotels. The building is fine and finely restored: high ceilings, polished hardware, long hallways, old armoires and just the right amount of gloom in the dining room. Breakfast is good and the fruit fresh. The view of downtown is terrific as long as... More

Unfortunately we only had one night at The Priory, would have loved to have had at least a couple more nights at this beautiful property and in Pittsburgh. I always look for hotels that have a little history, or an interesting story, The Priory has all this in spades. It's beautifully restored and repurposed. The smallest bar in Pittsburgh is... More

I just spent three nights at The Priory Hotel and I'll make a point of staying there again when I return to Pittsburgh. The courtyard in the back with its fountain and flowers, is perfect for rest and reflection. Good to begin the day by eating their european style breakfast out there, too. The staff was truly helpful and proactive... More

This kind of comfort never goes out of style. Walking distance to the ballparks, museums, and Max's Allegheny Tavern. A friendly, attentive staff, an excellent European style breakfast, and new amenities like a shuttle service (which we did not need), and an exercise room (which we need, but did not use), makes the Priory the only hotel I will ever stay... As many review said, this is a very well maintained boutique hotel. Can still see the old buildings trace but everything is clean and comfortable. Love their breakfast with fine delicious cold cut and cheese.

Stayed at the Priory 3 days on business. Mostly loved it but with a few caveats... 1) If you are bothered by old fixtures, floors that squeak and doors that sometimes don't always fit right, go stay at the Marriott. If you appreciate lots of effort to maintain the original (or at least old) features of a historic hotel, this... More

I recently spent a night at The Priory while in Pittsburgh on business. I was drawn to it based on favorable trip advisor reviews, its interesting history as a converted monastery, and its very reasonable price (around $200). I was very pleased with the property. Front desk service was friendly, my room (king bed, on the first floor) was clean... More

We live about an hour out of Pittsburgh and wanted to get away for our anniversary but weren't able to go far. The Priory was perfect for us; the building is beautiful, and beautifully maintained. We had a king room overlooking the courtyard and loved it; the bar was delightful and our stay was very restful.

My wife's subordinate got married, so we made the trip to Pittsburgh. The reception was in the Grand Hall, which is gorgeous beyond belief. Those getting married, take note! We then stayed in the Priory. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy, my wife, who grew in this area, said the grocery store down the block had off duty police officers... More

My wife and I spent three nights at The Priory as part of her birthday celebration. Don’t think of the place as a traditional B&B, because it’s more like a small, boutique hotel. They appear to have sufficient staff to accommodate guests in forty or so rooms, which includes a very handy shuttle service. It provided on call pick-up at... More
