We came here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary as we spent our honeymoon at Cove Haven and we decided to check out another of their resorts. We arrived Friday night and left Sunday morning. I chose this resort over a short cruise out of our local port because I thought it was a quick drive and the fall foliage would be beautiful to see! While coming in November was our choice (as our schedule dictated) maybe this resort may be “better served” in the summer time where you can enjoy all that the resort has to offer. I knew that a lot of the activities on the resort were geared for the outdoors but on our first “day” it was raining and the next few days were too cold to want to spend it doing a 10-minute miniature golf game or archery outside. We arrived Friday night and check-in was very smooth but from the time I walked in (a miserable rainy day) I felt like I was interrupting the workers conversation. I was told here is my key and where to go and that was it! No real feeling of welcome you spent a lot of money for this resort lets make you feel like it! We drove to our room in the Villas, basically it is a fancy separated small building facing a small lake (which also faces the main road which you can hear the traffic from the balcony). The lake by all appearances didn’t really entice me to want to take a boat out on it or even walk around it, it is small and like I said near the road. The room was clean and a short walk to the main building where the dining room/bar is and the game room is. The room was spacious, the balcony was nice but the lake was different then I pictured and unfortunately too cold out to enjoy (maybe some outdoor heaters would be a good investment for the price of the rooms). The fireplace worked but my suggestion would be to bring your own wax fire starter as they charge for theirs. The heart shape spa tub is nice but does take a while to fill. The shower does not have a separation so the water kind of goes all over the floor in the bathroom put towels down so you don’t slip! The toilet is in a closet so if you are claustrophobic be aware! If you are a water drinker bring your own water bottles as they have what is called water system all the way in the game room (a short walk or drive) that you have to fill up what looks like an IV bag to bring it back to your room if you want. If you call Spooners (their version of room service) be prepared to pay a fee for everything which is normal but I asked for some bottled water and was told that they could only give me a 4oz cup and they would have to charge a fee but she did inform me where to go in the game room for water since I was told NOTHING at checkin). Friday nights are called International nights for dinner. It is buffet style and while the food was good there was nothing fantastic about it and the buffet was barely warm. I did notice that the servers basically stood in a group chitchatting with eachother and one or two were serving the room. They had set up on the side a nacho bar which was nice and had different toppings to choose from that was nice. Drinks were expensive! Bring your own alcohol to cut down on costs. I think that they could have had better drink "specials" or maybe include some alcoholic drinks in the “all-inclusiveness” as least. Dinner was open from 6pm-8pm the late-night activities as they call it doesn’t start until 9pm for the “music” and 10:15pm for the “comedic time”. So Basically, unless you want to sit in the empty bar or go to the game room there really isn’t much to do and since it was raining out we didn’t really want to walk around in the cold rain so we stayed in our room. We decided to rent a movie which they charge extra for ($20 for basically any newer movie) as they have no movie channels just basic cable channels. Onto Breakfast the next day which was buffet style – nothing out of ordinary. You get your choice of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and on the first morning 2 different French toasts along with your usual assortment of muffin, pastry, bread and fruit. Everyday they have a little flyer that states the resorts activities that the CXO has to offer. Saturdays CXO activities looked a little boring and didn’t really entice us to want to stay so we decided to go off the resort into Cambelback to take advantage of their activities. Now in the room is a book on basically everything you want to know about the resort and it also has things for the local attractions. In it they claim if you go to the Customer Service desk they can help you with reservations or give you discount tickets for various places. So before breakfast I asked about reservations and the girl behind the desk said that they don’t do reservations but they do have discount tickets but she couldn’t find them right at that moment and told me to stop by later. So I stopped by after breakfast and she curtly informed me that there are no more tickets that they stopped that back in October. Nothing else just nope can’t help you. OK so I called for my own information not a big deal but again I’m paying for a resort and I am not feeling like they really want me to be there. Anyway, after a cold day outside of the resort we came back and decided to warm up and take advantage of their “free” appetizers in the Nightclub. Free appetizers were cheese, a small vegetable platter and popcorn. We arrived when they started a Marshmallow Tee which the CXO did make it fun and we did enjoy our time at the appetizer hour. And Spooners Café is open and yes you can order different appetizers but you pay for them. Again, not included! Dinner Saturday night was your choose of 4-5 pre-selected meals. I had the steak and lobster which was good nothing out of this world. My husband got the Pork loin which he said was moist but ok. After dinner activities again were a Band at 9pm and a Comedian at 10:15pm so while we waited for “dance time” to begin we went to the game room which basically was all there was to do after dinner before any of the bands/comedians go on. They have some pool tables, ping pong table, a very small gym that has a basketball hoop. They have arcade games but you have to pay for them! Yes, again not included. They had a nice size outdoor firepit but it wasn’t lit. We then went back to the Nightclub for drinks (way overpriced) and listened to the band that played which was ok but didn't really play to the crowd to get them up and dancing. The comedian was ok he had some hits and misses. After all of that excitement we decided to go to Spa in the game room (they have one indoor pool and two spas), while we were walking to the game room, we noticed someone finally lit the nice outdoor firepit (mind you this was about 11pm – suggestion would be to have it lit earlier). The one spa didn’t work but the one that did work was nice and hot and we enjoyed relaxing in it. Sunday morning breakfast was again buffet style similar to the day before. And we checked out of the room which literally took 2 minutes. I think my main complaint was clear! For an “all inclusive” it is not! There are way too many “extras” that are not included and I understood alcohol was not included but it was way more expensive then say if I were to go a local restaurant and order the same drinks! For a resort I did NOT feel like it was a resort. Maybe if they invested in outdoor heaters for the cooler temps so that we can enjoy some of the outdoors maybe that would be a nice benefit. It felt like they hired a lot of college kids that were there just there to do a job and not really there to make the customers feel like this was a romantic getaway. I have taken cruises and even though they charge extras as well for various things, there customer service outweighed the extras because they went above and beyond to make us feel like we were on vacation! I did NOT get that from this particular resort.

We have been coming here since our honeymoon in 1976 ,and have always enjoyed our stays. We were very happy to see on our recent stay (Oct 24) , that they are modernizing and renovating all the rooms, We always enjoyed this resort, it has always been special to me and my wife. However, lately we were a little concerned that it was becoming run down and were unsure of returning. After seeing all the work being done, we are certain that we will be coming back for years to come ---thank you for keeping this unique resort alive .

Me and my husband are no strangers to the cove haven resorts, we honeymooned at Pocono palace & also went back there last year four our first wedding anniversary & have recently become members of the forever lovers club! this year we decided we would try out one of the other resorts so we picked paradise stream! we had the Diana's oasis room. check in was super easy and we actually were able to check in a little early. our room was huge and clean, the bed was comfy, the hot tub was so relaxing and our in room pool was warm and clean! we grabbed a drink at the bar in the nightclub before we went out to dinner that night and the staff was friendly and the drinks were strong and yummy. this location in particular is also a 2 minute drive to the mount airy casino! we truly did have the most amazing weekend and we already cant wait to come back! well deserved relaxation!

Just came from this resort and I must say it was better then expected. Even though we were only there for one night; I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did based off the reviews I read. Although the resort is a bit outdated; it was definitely exceptable. The room was ok. Nice shower, cute little personal pool area, and soft round bed. The resort has a ton of amenities but we didnt get a chance to utalize them because it rained. The food was great. My husband got a package that allowed us all you can eat steak and lobster. It was soooo good. Our waiter was super friendly. We attended the halloween costume party at the resorts club. It was fun. All in all I enjoyed myself. I definitely want to return when the weather is better, so I can enjoy the amenities.

Just got back yesterday from an awesome trip Celebrating our 16 year anniversary at Paradise stream. We stayed in the Lake Side Villa. I loved the view from our patio of the lake. Yes rooms are run down and need a little work. I loved that there is never anything not to do in Paradise Stream the game room is nice with pool tables and the workout room. The haunted hayride was fun and nice thing to do on or first night. I liked that they had entertainment every night at the club. The food was so good at dinner my favorite was the steak and lobster night. I will be returning to Paradise Stream for another anniversary celebration.
