We booked this place because we had wanted to always visit nearby Hawk Mountain Bird Sanctuary (don't miss it!). What a delightful getaway in which to also enjoy all the nearby attractions and activities. The rooms are simple and clean (bring your own shampoo, hair dryer, etc.) but simplicity is enhanced by a roaring fire in the common area and delicious breakfasts served up by Lindsey, the innkeeper, who is also an expert at offering dining and outdoor activities. The countryside is gorgeous, with streams, mountains and farmland all about. Walk up the road to the Nesting Box and enjoy the best REAL homemade ice cream around. We will definitely be back in the spring!
We stayed at Hawk Mountain BnB during peak leaf peeper season. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous and meet all of our expectations. All of our stress floated away when we sat by the pool with a drink in hand (did I mention the free beer!?) We felt at home with the lovely owners who went above and beyond to offer recommendations then offered to drive us to dinner! Our room was adorable and exactly what we were expecting. After a restful sleep, we were met with a delicious homemade breakfast complete with homemade jam, homemade bread, fresh avocado, eggs and bacon! Filled us up for our breathtaking hike at Hawk Mountain! I will reccomend to everyone! A perfect getaway!
Just perfect for us. Will always return to Hawk Mountain Bed & Breakfast. Lindsay is the perfect host and we felt welcome and comfortable from the first hello. Highly recommend as long as you aren’t high maintenance. Love the common room!
Such a friendly and comfortable 2 night stay at Hawk Mountain Bed & Breakfast. We stayed in room 108 and loved the firm bed and adored the stain glass bathroom door! Lindsey and Matt served up a great breakfast and the grounds are just gorgeous! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a couple of nights here. We loved it and the surrounding area is chock full of attractions such as the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, various wineries and the WK&S Railroad to name a few. We will be returning soon.
On 9/22/18, my husband and I stayed in the "deluxe" room #108. Luckily, we only planned to stay one night. The mattress was hard and the springs squeaked. Extremely uncomfortable. The road is right in front of the rooms so it is quite loud when any vehicle passes by. The bathroom door has frosted glass so if you turn on the bathroom light in the middle of the night it disturbs the other person. In the morning, I decided to take a bath in the "2 person jacuzzi" which is definitely only large enough for 1 adult. I had the water almost to the jets when I realized that the hot water temperature was dropping, so I didn't get much of a bath and my husband got a cold shower. The TV had not signal and the WiFi did not reach this room. The only upside was that Lindsay served a nice breakfast.
