I have just come back from my 4th stay at the YHA Cape Byron which was for 7 nights over the NY Period and as usual this place delivered a relaxed atmosphere, awesome people to meet and plenty of fun with the available activities. Meeting fellow travellers is easy here as there are a number of social areas where most...

Hey There, Thanks for your review! This is a very helpful review! Extremely well written and very constructive. Great to hear you're still keen to come back. We do base our rates on market value if you were to compare to Hotels then you might be a little shocked at their prices over the same period. However we will definitely...

This hostel has been my favorite in all of Australia, maybe because the city has been too. The room was clean and the beds soft after 20 days of sleeping in a van. Shame that you have to rent kitchen equipment, we used our own stuff from the van we parked in the tiny garage under the hostel. The pool...

We stayed here over Christmas. It was full of all sorts of international travellers who knew how to party. Having said that at 11pm the Night Manager moved the revellers on down the beach. There are plenty nooks and cranies to go if you want to get way from the crowd. This is a busy hostel and probably need more...

Hey Victoria Thank you for your feedback! We do have alot of international guests in Byron and it can be quite busy and loud over the christmas period! We have permanent staff that clean and maintain the hostel as well as people who work for accommodation, but we are always striving to improve the hostel so your review is much...

We stayed over the new year period and the hostel was extremely loud. The rooms are small without air con so you need to leave your windows open which is a problem as you have to leave the windows open. The decor is run down for a YHA and whilst the bathrooms are regularly cleaned, they are damaged and the...

Hey Bianca Were sorry about the noise during New years period, that time of year is always quite hectic and it can be hard to control the noise with so many people celebrating the new year. The facilities are regularly cleaned and maintained, thank you for your feedback we will do our best to improve for your next stay!

Great hostel for solo travellers! They host a 5 dollar bbq night which is great value for money and a lot of people go so it's a great chance to meet people. The balcony area is a really nice, chilled space. The facilities are good. I was in a 10 bed dorm but it was never too hot or cramped....

Hey There, Thanks for your great review! BBQ night is a awesome chance to meet new people and also a cheap night for food! Good on you for getting involved in the Walking Tour too! Safe Travels

Smooth check-in, really accommodating, great location by the beach, nice pool perfect for happy hour. When we were there (December) the crowd was a bit young and not too tidy but the staff made up for it. Thank you for an amazing time!

We had 3 nights here as a group of three. The location is good, Byron is only small so everything in walking distance. The pool was nice, a good size. The staff were very nice friendly and helpful. Lockers in the room so take a padlock. The toilet facilities were not big enough for the number of guests and they...

Hey There, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Firstly thanks for mentioning the parts of the hostel that you enjoyed! We do have to close the bathrooms for cleaning every morning and however don't close ALL bathrooms. The downstairs are open while we clean the upstairs and vice versa. We think this is a fair trade for...

Let's start with the positives. We got off the greyhound bus and there was already someone from the hostel ready to pick us up even though we hadn't booked which was really thoughtful and saved us carrying our stuff to the hostel. The check in/out was smooth and the best thing about the hostel is the guys on reception. Very...

Hey Leanne, Thanks for taking the time to write a review, as we do take on all feedback constructively. We appreciate that you mentioned what you enjoyed about the hostel. Firstly if you said the best thing about the hostel was the staff then why didn't you come down to reception and let the staff know about some of your...

Byron was one of these places I thought was a bit overrated, and therefore I had plans making it impossible to stay more than two night. I really regretted that after a little while in this great hostel. Friendly family owners and great atmosphere. Nice pool and common areas. And the highlight: the lighthouse tour with owner Todd. So lucky...

It was really surprising to us that this is YHA hostel as standard doesn't match at all.. This hostel is quite old or at least that's how it'd facilities look like. Common areas are old, damaged and dirty and in general not pleasant to hang around. Kitchen was incredibly filthy, to the point it was discussing... we didn't want to...

Hey there, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate the feedback about the hostel. Our hostel however is a purpose built grade 4 YHA. YHA's are given different grades out of five and to meet each standard we have to meet certain criteria including the ratio of people vs. bathroom facilities as well as the size...
