The highly touted Arts factory was a mediocre stay. The amenities themselves are quite average bordering on below average. There was sand everywhere; i mean that's something i would come to expect from a beach town, but my guess is all the barefoot hippies dragging their feet through everything leave residue throughout the hostel. The pond is very cool. Byron...

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. It sounds like you enjoyed parts of the Arts Factory, and fair enough, our hostel is not everyone's cup of tea. Glad to hear you are having a laugh at our expense, at least you are laughing! Happy travels :)

I stayed here in January in six bed dorm. I'm sure people have heard of this hostel from the film the inbetweeners, well this is the reason we stayed there. The hostel has a pool, bar/cinema on site, lake, hammocks, you name it this place will have it. The location isn't great, 15 minute walk to the beach but this...

Thanks for taking the time to write a review Jordan. It sounds like you had a good time and enjoyed all the activities we have on offer. Plus you got a good first hand experience with our wild life! The lizards are Eastern water dragons, harmless and friendly! I think 4 stars is a great rating - thank you ;)

Stayed here for three nights with my two friends in October 2015. We initially booked the hostel after finding out it was where part of the Inbetweeners 2 was filmed and we thought it would be fun to stay there. It's slightly out of the way of the main area of Byron, but there is a shuttle bus which picks...

Thanks for the review Abby, even though you didn't rate us very high, you sound like you had a reasonably good experience. I am glad you made the most of the free activities like yoga and the talent show. You are quite right, our hostel is not for everyone, but we like being different! Happy travels :)

Very well organised hostel with friendly staff and consistently clean bathrooms. Went during a very busy time of year and found that the showers and bathroom facilities were the best i have experienced at a hostel with bursting pressure and more than enough cubicles for each person. An area of improvement is the social environment with having numerous tables and...

The arts factory is not a place for every body. It is a bigger, loud party-hostel where lots of hippies and wanna be hippies stay. In addition to that there is a huge consumption of weed. Most of the people are stoned the whole day. I don't think that it is a bad hostel. But if you don't like that...

Dear Sveni, Your review is way out of line. Please be clear, we do not allow guests to use marijuana at the Arts Factory Lodge. Marijuana is illegal in Australia, and travelers should be aware of this. If guests staying with us use marijuana off the property and come back stoned, there is nothing we can do about it. But...

Stayed here for 2 nights while in Byron and its a pretty cool hostel with a nice vibe. Lots of unique style dorms, although we only stayed in a regular 10 bed which was comfortable and very spacious. There was plenty of parking available for our car and the amount of other cars. It is a long walk out of...

Had a 2 night stay here and really enjoyed it. Rooms are spacious and very clean, tip o the hat to the housekeepers! Reception staff friendly and travel desk very helpful! Bus drivers need a little shake up however, they all seemed more concerned with their social life than customer service. But all in all a lovely stay! Thank you...

We stayed here 3 nights in a double cube room. The room itself was long with a foamy double bed, fan, fridge and little seating area. They are all decorated really cutely and face onto the pool. We thought this would be noisy at night but was actually surprisingly quiet! There's loads of stuff on offer here too, there's a...

The coolest hostel I've ever stayed in. Stayed in the small teepee for 2 nights (glamping- tent with power points) then the island retreat for 3 nights. They have normal dorm rooms too though, and a big campsite! Toilets a bit of a walk from island retreat but I didn't mind, it's more fun to stay there and have your...

The Arts Factory is located a little out of town, about a 15 min walk, but they do have a shuttle bus service. Thank you for your review Lazyeyebaily, and might I say, you can actually write a real review! You have told everyone what facilities we offer, extensively as well. Rarely do people get it right when writing reviews, they get caught up in personal issues and finite details and don't really tell other people what the property actually is like! So...
