Living in Carson City is fun and pretty convenient when it comes to outdoor enthusiasts. One winter weekend, friends of mine asked to join them on an evening excursion on snow shoes in Hope Valley. No to mention an incredible stay that evening in one of the coziest cabins I have ever spent the night in. Clean, inviting, warm and...

We loved our stay at Sorensen's. It is in a picture postcard setting and we took advantage of the close proximity to Kirkwood and snowshoeing. The staff is very accommodating and the food is wonderful. It is quiet and relaxing and a provided for an authentic snow experience.

Sorensen’s is ideally located at 7,000 feet elevation in the Sierra Nevada just twenty minutes from Southshore, Lake Tahoe. Winter activities include skiing at a world-class resort a few minutes away and unlimited snowshoeing and cross country skiing opportunities. Summer provides access to many miles of excellent hiking. The cabins are comfy and cozy with good beds and kitchenettes in...

We love coming to Sorensens Resort in the winter. Their cabins are so comfortable and warm on a cold snowy day. The rooms are well appointed with reading lights above both sides of the bed. So thoughtful. We come to cross country ski but they lend out snow shoes when we can't ski. They also provide hot cocoa, tea, and...

It was snowing so mightily during our entire trip to, from and during our stay at this wonderful resort. I was there with my sister, my son and his two young children. We stayed in a nice log cabin for four, and that also allowed up to two dogs, though I left my pups at hoime with myu husband. We...

Lovely cabins in the woods - a magical place. Although it is not far from South Lake Tahoe and ski resorts such as Kirkwood, Sorensen's feels remote, a genuine getaway from all the busyness of our wired lives. There's no cell service or wifi, just beautiful Mother Nature all around. We loved our cozy cabin and the easy access right...

Based on our recent experience, I would caution Sorensen guests about believing that reserving and paying for a cabin in advance means that you will actually get the cabin on the dates reserved. We have enjoyed Sorensen’s a number of times in recent years. In July, we reserved our favorite cabin for three days at Thanksgiving. We paid the full...

This was our visit time that we stayed in their cabin. We have a little dog so the resort is very dog friendly, We arrived 4 days after a storm so most of the fall colors had been blown on the ground but some trees still had their yellow leaves. The check-in was very efficient. John, the owner, was very...

For those of you who like the Disney Magic Kingdom, you won't like it here. This is the real deal...open your senses to Nature. Situate in a large aspen grove, Sorensens allows you to let go of the techy trappings of life...no wifi, no tv, no phones to speak of (Verizon does work there). Feels like off the grid, but...
