We returned to Tregawne in late July after the weather forecast promised a week of sun - unheard of in Cornwall. We stayed in Rosemary Cottage, one of the two two-storey cottages with its own garden. We have stayed at Tregawne many times over the years and it has always been superb. The cottages, set around a communal lawn, are in the heart of lush Cornish countryside but are only a short drive to the fabulous Atlantic beaches around Padstow and the myriad attractions of my favourite county in England. I stayed in mill cottage with some friends, the cottage was dirty, the cooker didn't work, curtain rail had fallen off, door handles where broken, windows and doors where rotten. Wifi didn't work, there was no phone line or coal as promised. There was limited parking. The outside are was dangerous, with broken concrete, damaged man hole covers, and generally... More

Booked Tregawne's Clove Cottage 1st Dec 2013 for a holiday in June 2014. 3 days later owners apologised that owing to admin error, Clove was already taken. But they offered us Quince Cottage. Paid this, half in December, other half in May. Three weeks before we were due to travel, owners discovered another admin error and advised they were cancelling... More
