Good points..close to the ferry and where we were visiting..clean bedding..hot shower..TV in room was not working but it was changed later to...

We stopped at st James guest house for our sons passing out parade. We found the hotel to be clean and the owners very friendly, the breakfast was spot on, would defiantly go back. The hotel is literally 5 mins drive to HMS Raleigh making it and ideal place to stay if your loved one is passing out, and its...

Stayed there oct 2012 very good location just up the road from ferry port and local bars and Restaurants. We found the owners very helpful and friendly. And the food was great too. We will definitely go back and stay again, I would also highly recommend to anyone else.

Having read the tripadvisor reviews, only one wasreally negative. I agreed with the majority; the guest house is clean and the owner is very friendly and helpful. Could find no fault with the breakfast either. The decoration of the rooms was a bit dated and maybe a bit shabby- in need of re-decorating. But as the price for a family...

I spend a weekend almost monthly in Torpoint and St. James Guest House is my stay during the visits. Tiny and Tracy are very friendly and welcoming, and the room (regular one) is very good and clean. A great value for money!

Arrived at around 6pm on the 15th December for the passing out on the 16th and received a warm welcome from Tiny at the door who advised on parking arrangements which were no problem. Received a welcoming pint in the lounge bar at a very reasonable price. Asked Tiny about local eateries in the area, a great carvery up the...

The St James Guest House is a small family run business. Clean and friendly and most importantly within walking distance of all buses and the car ferry into Plymouth. The owner is called Tiny but the reception and food is anything but. We stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting several National Trust properties close by and Tiny leant us a...

A very friendly, family orientated guest house. Very clean and tidy and definitely did not smell of dogs as some reviews have mentioned. The dogs were friendly (we may now get a Great Dane) and not at all intimidating. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for our hosts. We also stayed in the family room with the bunk beds...

We stayed one night at the St.. James b&b. The location is ok, the owner was kind and we didn't mind at all the great dane (of which we just caught a glimpse because the owner kept it away). The room was small but quiet, and it seemed clean. We had a problem with the bed, since it was very...
