This is a very old house, which is in need of modernising. However it's age and decor and furnishings give the stay here a uniqueness. It is indeed like taking a step back in time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The bedroom although a little...More
A wonderful Edwardian home from home. The decor is from a different era. The rooms are large and spacious. The furniture is a beauty to behold. However, what makes Penkerris so special is the landlady. The host is charming, kind and unique. A faultless experience.
We have to agree with previous reviewers who decribed some of the shortcomings of this accommodation. We found the owner charming and appreciated her desire to provide economic accommodation but this falls well short of the standard most travellers would expect. We were put off...More

I am sorry these people were disappointed. I do wish they could have told me at the time what was wrong, so we could put it right.

For holiday guests we cook and serve breakfast at 8.30 AM. But if anyone needs to catch a boat (to Scilly ) or to make an early start for some reason we can usually manage something earlier. For workmen in the winter we frequently do breakfast at 7.30 or even earlier. For a really, really early breakfast - we let them make tea and toast etc for themselves in the kitchen and leave out fruit, cheese, yoghurt etc. Dorothy at Penkerris
