I stayed with my hubbie for 3 nights in a downstairs bedroom. Marnie & Mark met us with an immediate feeling of being able to take one's shoes off and settle in and the bedroom did not disappoint. Warm, light, cozy with easy to open...More

John & Susan, If you cannot get a room at the Lansdowne, try the Penventon Park Hotel, They often have offers on which incluse an evening meal and cream tea with a short break. We've stayed there too. its a lot bigger and has more facilities but we didn't get time to use them as we were also visting family. Don't be put off by the 3* rating, it should be higher but as its an old building they can't get the lifts in that are needed to be rated higher. Its quite grand with a piano player in the dining room in the evening. The Penvention & Lansdowne are both close to the train station and easy to tget to. pauline
