I visited the Royal Standard whilst visiting friends down in Cornwall. It is a great little boozer which made me feel very welcome as soon as I stepped through the door. The events are fantastic and offer everything from darts pool party nights great food - most events are offered with a basic buffet cooked by the landlady and landlord - dogs are welcome on leads. A great experience and...

Went for Sunday Lunch, advertised as Homemade with real gravy! Food was nice, but let down by gravy- most definitely not home made! It was busy, whilst made to feel welcome by the landlord, didn't feel so welcome by locals who all turned round to look at us when we walked in! If you aren't bothered about the atmosphere, eat...
