Lensbury Review This was our third stay at the Lensbury in the past year. We first discovered the hotel last year and loved staying there. The amenities are fantastic and the location is right on the River! This year was a special birthday for me, so we thought let’s invite a few friends to come and stay with us at the Lensbury and have my birthday dinner there. Which is exactly what we did. Us and two other couples stayed there. I had been liasing with the hotel for quite some time about my birthday dinner. In particular with a lovely lady called Annie. We arrived early and had lunch at the hotel, where we were met by the lovely Alayna who was expecting us. When we sat down we were greeted by the charming Phillippe! He was very attentive and entertaining which made it a great start to our stay! Unfortunately there was a problem with one of our friend’s lunch so Phillippe offered us all a dessert each on the house. After lunch we checked into our rooms and found Knoll had kindly upgraded us. When we got to our room we were pleasantly suprised with a complimentary chilled bottle of Prosecco & a lovely card for my birthday. What a wonderful touch! The room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom had heated flooring which was a plus. In the afternoon we hired a Motor boat (which costs extra and needs to be pre-booked). We were happy to see that all the life jackets as well as the boat was wiped clean. We had a wonderful time on the boat- sipping on Champagne and enjoyed great views of Richmond & Kingston on Thames. On our return to the hotel, we took up Phillipe’s offer of dessert and we were so happy we did as all the desserts were delicious! Then we all went to our rooms to get ready for my Birthday Dinner where more friends were going to be joining us. On coming down to the restaurant’s outside terrace- I was taken a back by the thoughtful way the hotel had set-up our dining table. We had arranged to pay a corkage fee for drinks with Sam and brought in our own drinks. The hotel had beautifully set-up a separate table for our drinks adjoining our main dining table and that’s not all- I was greeted by Annie the lady with whom I had been liaising with for weeks and she informed me that she would be our server for the night. Annie was absolutely amazing! She made sure everyone got a welcome drink, kept all our drinks topped up, she was so attentive and stayed with us the whole evening! She literally made my dinner completely care free. I couldn’t have asked for more! One of the many perks of having my birthday dinner at the hotel was that after dinner when it got a bit chilly outside, they moved us into the bar area with our drinks and Annie looked after us there as well! We had a wonderful evening and the hotel went completely out of their way to ensure it was stress-free and special. I couldn’t have asked for anything more! The next morning the hotel kindly let us have a late check out. So after a delicious breakfast we all went Canoeing and it was so much fun! The sound of the water as your paddle gently glides through it is so tranquil and calming. A definite must do when staying at the Lensbury! Before we left we decided to have their Sunday roast and finished it off with of course some of their delectable desserts! We saw Phillippe again and as the day before he was charming and attentive. When it was time to depart I was sad to leave. The hotel had been extremely accommodating and went above and beyond-making my special birthday -Extra special and I am so very grateful for all they did to make it so. All our friends said that they loved it at The Lensbury and would definitely return. We’re going to book in again, this time we’re going to bring our children with us as the Lensbury has excellent facilities for the whole family to enjoy. I would highly recommend the Lensbury for anyone who wants a hotel that has fantastic amenities, and fun activities in London! The Lensbury is one of London’s best kept secrets and we see ourselves returning here time and time again.

We booked for a family lunch on the terrace. And on arrival were told that we were not allowed in due to a high profile guest being on the premises. The booking was made and accepted online and a confirmation received for the booking. Really disappointed as we were looking forward to our lunch together and had planned our day around this. Plus made the journey here and were not notified beforehand. We left feeling like second class citizens. Disgusting!

Firstly. Very nice hotel. It's approximately half a mile away from Teddington High Street. I was placed in the annexe building. The room was fantastic, great WiFi, clean room. Reception wasn't fantastic. The grounds are quite large with ample room for walking and views of the Thames. Aston Villa who I support were training on the day I was there. The restaurant, I was expecting more. I was served by a waiter who looked like he didn't to be there. I ordered the lamb and there was a lot of fat which hadn't been rendered. The fondant potatoes were undercooked. I was provided with new fondant potatoes but wasn't advised that the bowl they were in was extremely hot, so my hand got burned. I was served watered down Coke, which luckily enough was picked up by the waiter. The key to cooking fondant potatoes is to boil them first, then to fry them, whilst basting. Breakfast was okay but I was put off by the way the manager spoke to the waitresses. I would rather they were spoken to with respect especially in the presence of customers.

My son booked a table for us in July 2021, first time at this lovely hotel after a nightmare long time of Covid19 Restrictions and it definitely won't be the last. The hotel has good Covid procedures; with hand sanitisers available, staff wearing masks all the time and the restaurant very clean. This is without doubt one of the best hotels I've ever had the pleasure of dining in. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, the staff were so attentive and so very friendly an employee gentlemen named Zak, greets us after checking at the front desk (with a wide and honest smile). He directs us to our table in the nice restaurant with a beautiful view on the hotel's Garden after getting the menus he recommends us a bottle of House wine **Rose**, we were so happy of having such particular attention ,I would highly recommend a visit there as it's a great and special venue. Above all the welcome and service is exceptional. I have to add that the food was amazing and very healthy. The hotel is prime and only a short walk from most tourist hot spots. This hotel and all the staff give you the personal service that makes you feel more than welcome. We can't wait to return. Thank you all for making our Lunch very special and memorable.

We stayed for 3 nights as part of a family staycation enforced on us due to the U.K. travel rules against going abroad. However this stay dulled our pain. Lovely place. The gym is top class with the very latest equipment. The only complaint I’d have about that is lack of sweat towels laid out in the gym and lack of disposable cups for water- both normally standard in a gym used by hotel guests. 25m pool also great with good steam room. Grounds are lovely with expansive lawn to the River Thames behind. Lots of parking but as this is also a member’s club it’s very busy until the evening but there’s a second large car park at the back. No electric vehicle charging which in this day and age is inexcusable in a quality hotel so they need to put those in for hotel guests only otherwise they’d be constantly taken by the visiting club members who seem to have a lot of Teslas. Bar was good here and we were pleased to see no price gouging. Good pint of London Pride. We had a family room in a corner on the third floor. Very large room, two queen sized beds, mini fridge and great air con. Standard of decoration in room was very good. Corridor outside could do with sprucing up/ beautifying but that’s nit picking. We only ate the breakfast there but it was top notch. Full serve yourself buffet, with all the usual cooked items which were good quality as well as fresh fruit, cereal etc. General area is very nice. We had never stayed in Teddington before but it’s a very nice town. Teddington Locks is adjacent to the hotel (walks) as is The Anglers pub which has perhaps the largest beer garden I’ve ever seen and pretty decent food. The high street is a 15 min walk or 5 min drive away (can park for free after 6) has many restaurants including local specialities and chains like Pizza Express and Nando’s. All staff were excellent but shout out to Phillipe and Graciano at breakfast and the rest of the team- nothing short of brilliant and so friendly. Would definitely stay again and it’s a great place for a family staycation.
