I was travelling to Manchester to see a show but decided that rather than stay in the centre I would stay somewhere on the outskirts but with easy train access & this hotel ticked the box. Easy to find and big car park (free). Rooms...More

The food and service was up to its usual high standard
I must mention the Chef as well as the restaurant staff, who were attentive and very polite.
Thanks to Richard and his staff for making the day so special
We visited the Wycliffe last Friday after a funeral. We live down the road and must pass the hotel almost daily but have never been inside. Very impressed with the hotel, staff and the food was lovely. Will definitely recommend the Wycliffe for future events.

Thank you for your question. In terms of taxis from Manchester Airport I would personally recommend using a private company such as (Metro or Lynx) as opposed to the traditional British "black cabs" which are often much more expensive.
It is difficult to give an exact figure but I would expect that a private firm would cost just over GBP 10.00.
With regards to the train transportation, it is a little more tricky. As there is no direct train from Manchester Airport to Stockport you will need to go into Manchester Piccadilly and change - this journey can take about 30 - 40 minutes and typically costs between GBP 4 -8.
Although it does cost a little more I would personally recommend a taxi as it usually only takes about 15 minutes.
I do hope this helps, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
