Been drinking here for a couple of years What a cracking place Staff are brilliant, beer is lovely After 4 pints of dizzy i cant write a lot more :) Karen you make the place feel like home, covid precautions made me feel totally at ease
I stayed here for one night on business and was given room 142. I am sure it was the room furthest away from reception but hey ho, off I went in my search. After some wiggling about of my electronic door key (It didn’t seem to work whichever way I put it in: I really didn’t want to walk all the miles back to reception), I got into my room and was pleasantly surprised. The room had a double bed and a small double so I had a choice of sleeping arrangements. I don’t understand it though when there is clearly only one occupant, why they are given more than one bed. Perhaps in case I change my mind in the night? The room was very large with duel aspect windows. Whilst the decor/furnishings appear very tired and in need modernisation the room was clean and warm. I had a large bathroom with shower and bath, but no shower curtain which I thought a little odd however I did notice a drain in the floor so I guessed it was ok. I went to the brasserie for an evening meal and enjoyed a superb Indian starter and main: I had the chilli masala king prawns for main which was delicious. Highly recommended. Satisfied I returned to my room and lay on the bed to read. The bed was not the greatest and a bit like a hammock, certainly in need of a mattress replacement. That night I didn’t sleep very well and woke early which was a good job as at 06.30 the fire alarms went off. I was just putting on my shoes when they stopped so I guessed there was no fire. Had I been asleep this would have been a rude awakening but not as rude as no fire alarms and a real fire! One of those things and comforting to know they work. Overall good food, and a clean and comfortable hotel. I have certainly been in worse.…
Booked a side room for a function with work colleagues and ordered a hot and cold buffet. The room was reserved on our arrival, clean and well presented. I can honestly say that there were no lengths the staff would not go to to make the evening special. There was no waiting at the bar, drinks served promptly and the buffet was more than adequate even with some left over which the staff offered to wrap if we wanted to take it with us. Everyone had a good evening with plenty to eat and drink. Unlike some other establishments this place will not rip you off with over inflated prices and they have a good drink selection covering most of the gins and quite a few selections of beer and lagers. This is a venue I will certainly consider booking in future for any further events. Well done to all the staff and thank you for making the evening special…
Visited for a meal today, have to say it was the best roast I have had in a while, my daughter had the cheese and onion pie. Both delicious, told the staff and they have only been owners for 2 months, carry on doing a great job.
Our daughter has just moved to Stockport and my wife and I, after a long old day ferrying from Manchester to Stockport and back again deserved a few drinks,so the three of us headed down to this pub and had a great time.Staff were really friendly and there was plenty of space out the back to grab a table. Didn’t eat there but it’s a great little pub for a drink or a few.
