This place is excellent for a stay over. The Toby cavery is just the normal standard of Toby cavery. The room we stayed in was lovely recently decorated, modern, new carpet. And the breakfast was good too cold stuff cereals, toast fruit and yoghurt ect and also we had the hot English too. The staff were great too really good value...

Stayed for a week, this was our 5th or 6th time of visiting over the years, always had a reasonably stay until this time. Expected a first floor room as booked but told we were on the second floor, unacceptable as there was no lift! They changed it to the only room available on the first floor. The room 104...

First the good stuff: well located, clean and in good repair, very pleasant staff, reasonably priced. Now the niggles: Steep narrow stairs to room on second floor. Shower was a pathetic dribble. WiFi only worked maybe 10% of the time. The included breakfast was just toast and cornflakes etc, you could pay for the hot buffet, but at the same...

After reading reviews was expecting dated, drab - but it wasn't at all. Very clean, comfortable, quiet rooms, all the basics. Clean sheets, towels etc - will stay again and recommend. Had drink in Toby carvery bar both nights, very comfortable, lovely staff. Had cooked breakfast last morning as long journey home, but really didn't need to in hindsight as...

Stayed at this hotel. On arrival the staff were very friendly & polite so I cannot fault their service. The restaurant was busy with people having the carvery. I had booked a room on the day so missed out on a double bed so was given a room with 2 single beds. On the plus side the room was spacious...

Excellent staff and servers. Good quantity of meat portion. Waitress couldn't do enough for the person in our party whom was vegan. They went and got cauliflower with no cheese sauce on. It wasn't a special occasion but we all enjoyed lunch out here.

We stayed here on the 9th Dec 2016 and used this as a base for the Manchester Christmas Markets. Check in was smooth and the chap that admitted us was very friendly. We were given our room key, yes a proper key! and told where the room was. The room was spotless and although basic, we were very happy. Continental...

I stayed in this pub for two days with my 88-year old father - we travelled a long way to visit his first great-grandchild. As a lover of history I enjoyed being in an old, converted inn. The old-style decor has been refreshed with spotless, brand new en-suite bathrooms and modern, spotless bedding. There is a TV in every room...
