We arrived at this hotel after experiencing a terrible night elsewhere. The owner is the kindest woman ever! She offers clean, spacious and safe rooms. The location is superb, quiet and close to the beach. It is perfect to have a good night's sleep, read in the evening on the rocking chairs in the front, and enjoy the town. We...

Clean, close to everything but still quiet and safe. We paid 25$ a night, private bathroom, free coffee and cookies every morning. The lady that owns the place is very sweet and knows a lot about the surroundings and the nicaraguayan culture. She speaks spanish, english and german. Helpful! Only thing missing is a pool, but the hotel is 2...

Very nice and clean. My friend and I rented a room with 2 single beds for $25 on a weekday and $35 for the weekend. For an extra $8 you can get AC. It came with a standup fan in the room. Towels and soap in the bathroom. It was very close to the beach and the restaurants. Exactly what...

This little hotel has small, simple rooms that are very nicely appointed for a budget place. You can choose between A/C or fan in each room. A single room with fan was about $22. The rooms are clean, the towels and sheets are in good shape. They give you a couple of glasses, there is a table with two chairs...

We always stay here (or at the owners other place) when in san Juan. A really calm and clean place. And really nicely priced. You can choose if you want to use and pay for air-conditioning, wich in december alot of times is not needed. The coffee in the morning is the best in town too...

As is the protocol every time we enter a new city, my son and I look at places until we find something suitable. In San Juan del Sur, the hotels were either too dark or too expensive. We stumbled upon El Puerto before right we gave in and settled for something we did not want. I could not believe our...

We are a backpacking couple and longed for a nice, CLEAN place to stay with AC that was relatively affordable. This place is great. Clean bed sheets, comfy bed, clean showers, really great cool AC, wonderful owner. She provides coffee and biscuits in the morning on the patio for her guests, and has been very accommodating. Great location, too. A...

It's a great deal if air conditioning is a must (as it sometimes is), and an even better deal with just the fan. The staff were very friendly and the coffee was nice. It is located far enough away from the bars/restaurants etc. that it wasn't too loud, but San Juan Del Sur is small enough that it's still within...

After 2 nights at the horrible Encanto del Sur, we were desperate to find a hotel were we could actually sleep and was ourselves. Sounds pretty basic, but El Puerto delivered the goods - and then some. There is a nice public area with television, books and beverages available for purchase. Lots of power outlets, comfortable rooms, a safe and...

“I've been travelling with a UV camping filter now every time I go to Central America and it allows you to drink straight from the tap. Doesnt sound like a big deal, but its so nice to never buy bottled water.”

“Can save money by renting a room with fan instead of AC. With the windows open it is fine. The rooms are in the back even with gates, so jalosy windows are safely open. Cold water showers are not so bad with the heat of the day. Bring shampoo. Bottled water available for sale in lobby. Fresh coffee early in am. Have fun.....”
