We spent 3 nights in the Yourantai. It is situated in a big tropical garden on a small hill at the northern end of Jinghong above the Mekong River. We were received very friendly by the manager and she helped us organize trips during our stay in Jinghong. The lodge is not cheap b

My son and I spent 6 nights here. The staff and owner were fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and always available. They arranged guides, trips and suggestions of places to visit within an hour or two. A lovely jungle like setting (a former rubber plantation). We stayed at our ow

Yourantai is in an absolutely splendid setting; real balm for the soul. Our Dai house, which comfortably accommodated the three of us, was a wonderful place to relax after a hard day's sightseeing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all delicious, with home made juices and jams f

Yourantai is everything its website says it is - spacious wooden Dai style buildings in lush natural surroundings. Our 'housekeeper' Tina was friendly and helpful and the hospitable owner, Gerard, was ready with lots of local information invaluable for our onward travel. Just one

My travel partner picked this one and I now blame myself for not checking its background before reservation. My regret of coming to this place is the biggest in my entire life of travelling.

Imagine you arrive a town the first time, not knowing the way, being unable to locate

Hi, I'm thinking of coming to Yourantai - I'm a single woman, English, don't speak Chinese at all!...is that OK? Do you have any smaller rooms that don't cost as much? And would this be a good place to be for a few days at Chinese New Year time?
Nov 15, 2015 Dear Sasiki, We often have foreign women travelling alone as guest, here at Yourantai, and zero Chinese language skill is no problem at all ! We are happy to help our guest to discover the area or find good places/restaurants/bars in Jinghong, with or without guide. We still have some availability during CNY. It depends on the dates of your trip. Please contact me through the link offered on our website (given on TripAdvisor page). I am not allowed to post my personal email address or phone number here. Thank you ! Gerard Burgermeister

Dear sir, I'm a student at Tsinghua University and I sleep in the dorms at campus. A friend of mine will come and visit me for 3 weeks (20/12 - 1/9). Can you offer us your best price for a double room in your hotel during this period? Kind regards, Yana Dekempeneer
Dear Ms Dekempeneer My wife and I have stayed at the Yourantai B&B in November 2014 and loved it! So I can very much encourage you and your friend to stay at the Yourantai B&B, too, when you visit Jinghong. For prices you will, however, have to contact the always friendly manager and staff at Yourantai B&B directly. I am sure they will be delighted to have you! Have a good trip and enjoy your holidays at Yourantai B&B Daniel

"Ask for separate cottage, although the non cottage rooms looked fine."
"The rooms/houses were all lovely. Choosing would depend on how many you are."
"Go for the Palm Villa if you a are a couple in need of space, the Magnolia Villa if you are a family with kids"
"We were traveling with another couple so we chose the house with the shared veranda but really didn't matter as the private decks had a better view of the river and night time light show."
"If travelling with 2 couples or a group of friends, the Magnolia villa is perfect - 2 separate rooms with individual ensuite bathrooms but within easy reach of each other. Palm villa had a lot more mosquitos and less light than Magnolia."
